You're listening to Sapientia, a show about seeking truth and finding wisdom. I'm your host, Trance Blackman. Thank you for joining me on this journey of discovery. Hello everyone and thanks for joining me today. I am, of course, Trance Blackman, the host of Sapientia. I wanted to do a quick opening episode, solo effort here, to just tell you a little bit about me, who I am, and what I aim to achieve with this podcast series. I am an artist, writer, and seeker of truth. What does that mean? And what exactly is truth? I've been recording and producing my own music for many years. I've worked in TV, film, and theater. I enjoy filmmaking and photography. But underneath it all is the relentless search for truth. And grappling with the rather ambiguous idea of consciousness. It is through music, imagery, and words I've endeavored to discern the facts from the fictions, the real from the fake and illusory. For the most part, it's always been about exposing the lies and corruption of our long-trusted institutions. And ideally, quote-unquote, awakening humanity. Ever since I was a kid, I've felt like I looked at the world a little differently than most. The inner conflict that develops when you dare to go down any number of rabbit holes is unsettling, to say the least. Knowing about these things is important. But it's easy to get lost in it, overwhelmed and feeling futile. The scale of dark and deceptive forces at work in this reality isn't an easy pill to swallow. But what's true is that the big picture is a little more complex. If I've learned anything during these past few decades, it's that the intricacies and manipulation of our individual and collective narratives goes back millennia. We don't really know our true history. To this day, there are those in our world who actively sequester, suppress, eradicate, and erase evidence and artifacts of the past. So to what? Control the future? We've lost innumerable assets and libraries to time, leaving vast chasms in our understanding of who and what we are. So where do we begin? It always feels like we're so far behind. We must seek truth. We must realign with our inherent wisdom. I think that journey begins with the simple, tangible, life-affirming things. Beliefs may come and go, but lasting change and fulfillment comes through persistent, conscious movement toward what is natural, real, and aligned with our spirit. No one needs to remind us to do what we love to do. Purpose and meaning are discovered along the path, because while we can learn a lot by standing still, observing, and soaking up enormous amounts of data, we may learn a lot more through energy in motion, by being authentic, courageous, and proactive, rather than reactive, subject to the influences, whims, and wishes of others. The only way to change the world is to change within ourselves. This is because our perceptions, thoughts, and actions are generative, creative energies. These forces are far too frequently weaponized and used against us. What is true is beyond the fear. What is true is not only the story we've inherited, but much more. With our eyes opened and our minds curious and engaged, we can endeavor to increase the resolution of our perceptions and gather again the font of human potential and inborn wisdom. Over the years, I've written articles and essays to this end, and it's why I've started the Sapientia podcast. Beyond the ideas and philosophical writing that analyzes and synthesizes the learning and research I've done on my own, I think it's important to engage in conversation with others, those outside my reality tunnel. We need and I need to hear their stories, to understand and appreciate different perspectives, to learn from their experiences, and, inevitably, to discover how we all hold similar pieces to the grand puzzle of life. So my why for writing, producing music, films, and podcasts is to learn, to educate, to inform, inspire, enlighten, but most importantly, to empower. Truth can be a tricky, changeable thing, but wisdom is for life. Thank you for listening to my show, and I hope that you find some great value here. If you like it and enjoy it, please feel free to share it, of course, with others who may also find great value here.
