From Bigfoot to Chupacabra, from sea monsters to sky beasts, we'll cover it all. So buckle up, grab your headphones, and join me and Richard as we delve into the mysteries of the world's most elusive creatures, the Cryptid Chronicles. Let's get strange. Thanks, Chad, GPT, for the intro. Yeah, yeah, no worries. All right, so let's get this going. So basically, we wanted to share a story about a cryptid. Well, first of all, we need to shout out Garrett Michael Moreland for hooking us up with this setup, you know. Shout out to you, Garrett. You know, we call you BB. Shout out, Garrett. BB, you know what that stands for? That's what we call you. We call you Gary BB. Big shout out to our buddy, Garrett. You know, great guy. Yeah, we love this guy. Anyways, so, yeah, we had our very own cryptid experience, and it was pretty nuts, and we wanted to share it with everyone. And that's what our podcast is going to be about. It's going to be about the unknown, it's going to be about aliens, all kinds of that stuff. All the fun stuff that you talk about. Yeah, it's pretty nuts. Yeah. Well, why don't you jump into it, T? All right, sounds good. All right, so, when we were in junior high, so probably like 10 years ago or so, we were walking a couple longer than 10 years ago. Yeah, maybe 15. We were, yeah, ninth grade, so we were 15. So, that's almost 15 years ago. Yeah, 15 years ago, whatever. I like to think I'm younger. All right, so, you know, anyways, we were walking to one of our friends' house, and we were walking across like a big old field, and we were headed towards like a playground. And, you know, so we're walking over, it's like night, it's probably like 10 p.m. Well, we got to give some more background story before we jump right into it. All right, yeah. So, when we were 15, right, the cool thing was is we walked around, because we didn't have driver's licenses. So, what we did is we just walked around. So, we were at one of our other friend's houses, and one of our friends that lived maybe, what, like a mile away, two miles away, was having a party that weekend. And so, we were at our friend's house that we hung out with a lot, and we were kind of bored. And so, we decided to walk over to our other friend's house, and that's what we like to do on the weekends. And it was like, it was fall. It was cold outside. The leaves were on the ground. It kind of set the scene, you know. It wasn't just like any random day. It was kind of spooky when we were walking up there. Yeah, for sure. It was spooky, but I wasn't really, like, expecting anything. Like, we'd done this walk before. Yeah, it was the shortcut. Like, we could have walked around. It was an elementary school, and there were two soccer fields back-to-back. So, it was a long walk up with a small little hill, and then you got to go up the little hill, and there's basketball courts, and then there's a big, like, oak forest, and there's a playground right there. And so, we're walking on the field, you know, and as we're walking up, it's kind of a creepy vibe because it's the fall, and you could hear, like, the tetherball chains clanking, you know. It felt like something out of, what's that show? Goosebumps? Yeah. You used to watch that show? Yeah, like, the vibe was getting, like, a little bit, like, creepy. The vibe was intro to Goosebumps. That's the vibe. Yeah. It was giving off, for sure. Like, it didn't feel like a normal night. That's for sure. No, it was weird. There was something weird in the air. Yeah, so, we're walking. We're starting to get close to, like, there's a, so we're on, like, the, like, the basketball court, and to our left is, like, the playground, and it's probably, like, 30 to 40 feet away. And so, we're starting to head over there on that side, and we see from, like, these, like, monkey bar things. So, like, those ring monkey bars, I see, like, maybe, like, a little figure that looks kind of like a monkey. Yeah. It's like the shadow of a monkey, and I'm still walking. Like, I don't feel like I see anything. And then, like, I kind of just, like, stop, and all of us just stopped at the same time. And, yeah, like, what was your view? Did you notice anything? No, I had a similar thing, but the thing is, there were four of us, and none of us had, like, said anything or talked about it. We just kind of were approaching the playground, and I looked up there, and I saw something hang from the monkey bars, and I thought it was, like, a sweater that somebody had left, because it was October, probably, and it was cold outside, but it was, like, midnight. So, there's no kids outside, and so it wasn't, like, oh, there's somebody playing on the playground. It was, like, oh, somebody left their sweatshirt that was there this afternoon. So, that's what I saw when we were walking up, and I kind of saw it. I'm like, oh, someone left their sweatshirt up on the monkey bars, and so we just kept walking, and as we got closer, we all, I think, none of us really acknowledged it. I think we all kind of noticed it, but none of us said anything to each other, you know? Yeah, like, we all stopped at the same time. I remember that very clearly, and then I see it, and it drops, and just, like, it almost, like, floated up to, like, the oak forest, like, kind of, like, up the hill, and it wasn't, like, just crawling or something. It just, like, kind of, like, floated right on up, and we all freaked out. Yeah, I mean, so when we got probably, we were probably 10 feet away, right? When the point where we kind of all stopped, and I saw it, and it just looked like a sweater still, and I kind of was ignoring it, kind of, like, looking at it just to see what it was, and then when we're about 10 feet away, we're right next to the playground, and we'll have a diagram of, a map of all this, so you guys can visualize it better. Just check the site. Yeah, check the site. It'll be on there. But, so there's the elementary school right there. The playground is maybe 15 feet to the side of the elementary school, and there's a walkway in between, and then right off the side of the playground, there's the oak forest, and so the thing, when we're 10 feet away, we're on that path, we're between the school and the playground, and then the oak is right there next to us, and it just kind of drops, and it drops from the monkey bars, and it just looks at us for maybe, like, three seconds, and then what I, what I saw is it ran, like, with its arms, like, it ran with its legs and arms, and just took off into the forest, and was gone, and so the way that I kind of described it and thought about it, it looked like a monkey to me, but it's like, we grew up in, you know, northern Utah. There's not monkeys running around, there's, unless it was somebody's pet, but I had never heard of anybody in our neighborhood who had a pet monkey or anything. I think we would have known that, you know? Yeah, that would have been really weird for a monkey to just be chilling on the monkey bars at midnight, but when it, like, took off towards Oak Forest, do you feel like it, like, it moved its arms and stuff, but do you feel like it kind of, like, flowed up there? Like, there's no reason that it was not like a monkey either. No, it was a really unnatural, like, movement. I know that for sure, and for me, I thought it kind of ran on all fours, but it was just weird, like, I don't know how to describe it, and we all just stopped when it, like, took off, right? Like, it fell down and looked at us, and we all stopped, and we, like, kind of looked at each other, and we just took off the other way, because, like, what the heck was that? And, like, I don't have a lot of experience with this stuff, and, like, I didn't know anything about, like, you know, the unknown at that age, but, and if I was alone and I saw that, I would have just been like, I didn't see anything. That was weird, but I didn't see anything, but we all saw it. Yeah, it was just weird and unnatural, and it freaked us out, so we kind of, like, we ran, so we ran to the other side of the elementary school, and we're like, we're going to go this other way to get to our friend's house, because we wanted to be nowhere near that, because we're like, what the heck was that? And so we start walking the other way, and there was, like, a Suburban that was, had its trunk open and was backing up towards us. You remember that? Oh, yeah, like. And it was like, what is going on? Like, are these people coming to kidnap us? Like, did we see something we shouldn't have seen? Is this the government here to, like, take us away? So we book it the other way, back to where we came from, and we're just like, what is going on? Like, we're just so discombobulated and scrambled, you couldn't believe it. Yeah, like, I don't think the Suburban had anything to do it, but we were on high alert. Like, we were just scared. Oh, it was fight or flight, you know? And so when you saw a Suburban backing up towards you, like, it was weird, too. It was midnight. What is a Suburban doing backing up with its trunk open towards a bunch of kids? Oh, yeah. 15-year-old kids, you know? Like, why wouldn't they just stop? Yeah, it was super weird. Well, that was, I mean, that was kind of the end of it, you know? And we went to our friend's house, and we're like, that was really weird. And we talked about it a lot. I think we spent months probably researching, like, all kinds of stuff after that. And that's where we kind of learned about cryptids. But it was like, like, skinwalkers forever. It was like, it was a skinwalker. That's what we thought it was. Oh, yeah, skinwalker. But in looking back, no, it wasn't a skinwalker. There's no way. That's what it was. But, I don't know, I mean, I read about cryptids all the time now to try and just see if anybody's had similar experiences. And I've seen a few people that have had similar experiences, you know, to us. So, I don't know what it was. I mean, if I had to describe it, I would say it was monkey-like. But it was probably, what, like, maybe two and a half, three feet tall. It wasn't big. It was short. And, yeah, if I had to make a guess, I would guess that it was, like, which is weird, I would guess that it's a cryptid rather than a monkey. Like, it's almost like a higher percentage chance that it's a cryptid rather than a living thing, which is really weird to say. Yeah, no, it was not a monkey. That's for sure. But, like, that's the closest thing that, like, we know of that I can think of. But it was not a monkey. Yeah. Something else that I thought was interesting is, we've told this story to a lot of our friends and family and stuff. It's kind of fun to hear, like, the responses. Like, some people are like, oh, that was a story? Like, why did you hype me up? And then some people are like, oh, my gosh, like, that's crazy scary. So, I thought that was kind of interesting. Well, the feeling that you had, like, maybe to the outside people it sounds silly, but, like, the feeling that we had was like that of just pure fear, you know, when we saw that. Yeah. I don't know. I don't know that I would be scared to run into a monkey, but it was just like, I don't know what it was. But whatever it was struck kind of fear in you, whatever it was, so. Yeah, for sure. So, we're still on a quest to figure out what it is. So, if you guys have any ideas, can help us out. You know, we're kind of, we're open. Trying to figure it out still. I don't know that we'll ever figure it out, but when I die, and if I can watch a replay of my life, that'll be one of the first things I rewind to, to figure out what the heck that was. That was crazy. For sure. Yeah, I'd definitely like to hear, like, other people's experiences, because that's the only one I've really heard of, except for, like, a little bit of researching online. And obviously, it wasn't like a child, you know. Like, it was midnight. It was hanging there for a good few minutes when we noticed it, you know. And so, it was obviously strong. And, like, I don't think I could even hang from monkey bars for as long as it was hanging up there. So, I don't know. It was scary. That's all I can say. Yeah, it was insane. All right, we're going to take a break right there. We'll be right back. Thanks, Richard. How do we pause it?
