Shirley Temple and Annie sang a popular song called "Tomorrow" which talked about how the sun will come out tomorrow. The song reminds us that even though we can't always predict what tomorrow will bring, we can trust that each day God blesses us with, the sun will shine. Jesus also tells us not to worry about tomorrow, but to focus on the present. The saying "If the Lord will and the creek don't rise" is an old expression that means if everything goes according to plan. Nowadays, some people might say "If the Lord will and the church don't rise" because they are always ready for the trumpet of God to sound and take his followers home. This is Pastor Tim Hall from redletterwordsofjesus.com. Shirley Temple and Annie made a song popular entitled, Tomorrow. The song said, the sun will come out tomorrow. Bet your bottom dollar. When I'm stuck with a day that's gray and lonely, tomorrow is always a day away. Actually, we are promised that each day that God blesses us with, the sun will shine. But we are not always promised there will be a tomorrow as we know it or that it will be better. In Matthew 6, 24, Jesus says, Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. That is why the old timers would say, If the Lord will and the creek don't rise, I would do so and so. Actually, they were talking about the Creek Indians rising as that was their main concern at that time. Nowadays, you might hear me say, If the Lord will and the church don't rise, I would do so and so. As I am continually listening for the trumpet of God to sound and call his children home at any moment. This is Pastor Tim Hall of redletterwordsofjesus.com
