The Advance of Science in the Last Half-Century

Thomas Henry Huxley was an influential biologist and writer in the 19th century. He wrote an essay called "The Advance of Science in the Last Half-Century" where he discusses the major developments in Physics, Chemistry and Biology during the period 1839-1889. Huxley was a supporter of the theory of evolution and also a self-proclaimed agnostic. His essays helped to popularize science in the 19th century, and he is remembered for his quote, "Try to learn something about everything and everything about something."
