Good morning, I'm Elissa Delph. Each person's cancer is as unique as their fingerprint. That's the message from Rare Cancers Australia this World Cancer Day. Today the organization is launching a new report off the back of a genomic roundtable held last year. The research aims to extradite the implementation of genomic-led cancer care in Australia. Their CEO, Christine Coburn, told National Radio News health outcomes will be improved if each cancer case is looked at individually. Look, we work to improve the lives and health outcomes of Australians living with rare and less common cancers every day, and we do that by getting people an individual, dedicated personal navigator to help them through their cancer journey so that they're never alone. The Greens say they'll push the government to act on gambling reform before the federal election is called. Efforts to ban gambling ads have stalled after resistance from sporting codes and media companies. Greens Senator Sarah Hanson-Young has told the ABC her party has offered support for a partial ban on TV but wants a full ban online. What I've put to the government today is at least let's get something done. Let's limit the worst parts of the online targeting of children and young people. Let's put some bans in place for broadcast and then we will come back after the election and fight for more. Researchers say more than $15 billion a year is needed to stop the extinction of 99 priority species. David Cameron has more. The estimate comes from researchers at Queensland and Griffith Universities and the World Wildlife Fund Australia. They found it would take $15.6 billion a year over 30 years to stop almost 100 land and freshwater species going extinct. Eradicating weeds and replanting vegetation were among the costliest interventions identified. Australia has one of the world's highest species loss rates. US President Donald Trump has paused harsh 25% tariffs on goods from Mexico. It follows talks between Mr Trump and the President of Mexico. Mr Trump says Mexico has agreed to send 10,000 troops to the US border. The Australian War Memorial has received a massive boost with a range of new features improving accessibility and a new main entrance unveiled. A highlight of the makeover is a new display of the film Places of Pride featuring 42 memorials that reflect the diversity of commemoration in Australia. It will also allow visitors to search for memorials in their hometown. And in sport basketball legend Lauren Jackson has been appointed as a special advisor to the league as the WNBL enters a new era. Jackson is thrilled her new position will allow her to work with the league's talented players toward an exciting future. On April 2nd the NBL group and Wollemi Capital Group Syndicate will take over the WNBL. And in rugby league former Socceroos coach Graham Arnold will work immediately with South Sydney Rabideaux to assist and mentor their goal kickers for the 2025 season. Players like Latrell Mitchell have seen strike rate percentages well below the league's best kickers such as Nathan Cleary. Arnold has worked with Rabideaux coach Wayne Bennett prior to signing on with South Sydney. I try and replicate that on my day-to-day. Absolutely. Yeah, Jessie's a very positive person and it's been an absolute joy, but also a big thing that I've learned is to always not have my own agenda.
