The creator of Dragon Ball, Akira Toriyama, often forgets things. One funny instance was when he forgot about Super Saiyan 2. Fans believe he was actually thinking of Super Saiyan 3. In an interview, Toriyama said Goku's longest hair was in Super Saiyan 2, but it was actually Super Saiyan 3. He later re-read the manga to remember the details. Yes, the form that defeated this guy. Many fans conclude that he was thinking about Super Saiyan 3, but if you watched the interview carefully, Toriyama said that the form in which Goku had the longest hair is Super Saiyan 2, but in fact it was actually Super Saiyan 3, and he completely forgot about the form which was the climax of a complete story arc, though after which he re-read the manga to sort out a few things.
