And guys, we are ending this Friday with such a bang. I am so, so happy. If you guys have not heard, Junior Leaders with the WGA approved of a three-year deal Tuesday with Hollywood Studios ending five months of strike. Writers are now allowed to return to work as the ratification process for the agreement continues. Now, basically, the strike with the Writers Guild of America has ended. And I am so glad to see people go back to work. As you know or don't know, that the writers' strike affects the economy, okay? If you just think about, like, especially in the Los Angeles area, like, just say, for instance, one day I was out getting my nails done and ran into a caterer that actually does all the catering for a lot of people in the entertainment industry. So everything, hair salons, makeup artists, like, hotels, everything was at stake. And, you know, the economy kind of took a dive because of this, because there was not any money circulating in the entertainment industry, okay? Grab a snippet from CBS News in regards to it. I'm going to go ahead and just jump into this segment right fast and let you guys listen to it so you can get all the logistics of it. Give me just one moment. Let me go ahead and put it on. Here we go. ...deal yesterday ending what's been five months of strikes. The writers are allowed to return to work despite the ongoing ratification process. The deal reportedly includes pay raises, streaming-related bonuses, and growing protections from artificial intelligence. Elaine Lo is a staff writer at the Anchlor Media Company that is focused on Hollywood and the entertainment industry. Good to have you with us, Elaine. So tell us, what do we know about the deal and what it entails so far? There's a whole host of things that the writers managed to win in this deal, and some of the highlights include minimum staffing sizes, which means there's supposed to be a certain number of TV writers in a room on a given show, something called success-based residuals, which means that in addition to streaming residuals, if a show is a huge hit on a streaming service, writers will see a bonus based on viewership there, as well as some data transparency and, of course, AI protections, which is notable because that's something that these studios, according to the Guild, didn't initially want to engage the writers on, but ultimately came around and offered a series of different protections for writers, given this emerging technology. What made these strikes in Hollywood so significant is that for the first time in a long time, you had the writers and SAG-AFTRA, representing so many of the performers, striking at the same time. But they were the actors asking for many of the same things that the writers were asking for. I just got an email from SAG this morning saying, hey, just so you know, we don't have dates scheduled to even meet with the AMTP. Of course, what we do is negotiated separately, but what does that mean for actors moving forward? The performers have different issues that they're negotiating for than the writers, but there are some things, like you said, that overlap, especially when you're looking at AI, when you're looking at streaming residuals. So I imagine that the writers' deal must provide at least something of a template or give SAG-AFTRA something of an idea of what they'll be able to achieve when those contract negotiations restart. But for now, like you mentioned, SAG-AFTRA is still on strike, and we've seen writers back out on the picket line in solidarity with their performers. Although, as you noted, as of today, the writers are no longer officially on strike. Okay, guys, welcome back. That was our little snippet from CBS News in regards to breaking down the end of the writers' strike. Now, I did also want to inform you that the SAG strike is still on, so they have not came to terms yet with that strike. But hopefully, hopefully, we're keeping our fingers crossed, that they can definitely get everything worked out. Now, okay, so moving on with our juicy news segment. Okay, Las Vegas police have made an arrest in the 1996 shooting of Tupac Shakur. Now, I don't know if you guys remember, in 1996, there were two major boxers that had a huge match where a lot of celebrities came out. Well, the place was full of celebrities and high-influential people, and Tupac was, rapper Tupac, which was from Los Angeles area, was shot and killed in 1996. From what I just kind of read through the news, is that the Las Vegas police had really tried years and years of this murder. They made the arrest for Dwayne K. Davis. Charges have not been announced as of yet, so the charges, I guess they're starting to kind of get the charges together, and maybe they will go ahead and have a conference, a news conference, but they definitely have made an arrest. I don't know if you guys knew earlier this year that he did get his star on the Walk of Fame, and it was actually accepted in honor of his sister, which was also at the Hollywood Unlocked Awards as well. So she's been doing a lot of touring and a lot of press for him. So hopefully we can get her to come to the show and just kind of talk about, give us some updates in regards to how she's keeping his legend going. Tupac was a wonderful rapper. Okay, so that was actually everything for our Juicy News segment. We're going to go ahead and jump into a music break. I'm so excited about that. This is Friday, so I hope you guys are out there having fun. After that, we're going to come back and talk about all of the amazing things that are going on in Long Beach this weekend. So you definitely don't want to go anywhere, and we'll be right back. Here's Justin with my love on the Glove Show with LaCrystal. LaCrystal. LaCrystal. LaCrystal. LaCrystal. LaCrystal. LaCrystal.
