Whole foods are natural and include apples, salmon, oats, and broccoli. Processed foods are stripped down and rebuilt into something different, like cereal or chips. Refined sugar is hidden in many foods, even ones marketed as healthy, and can cause cravings and other negative effects. It's important to be aware of what you're eating and how it affects your body. So, let's talk about whole versus processed foods, and I'm going to actually break it down real quick. So, whole foods are foods in their natural form. Think apples, salmon, oats, broccoli, simple, recognizable, and your body actually knows what to do with it. Now, processed foods, that's when ingredients actually get stripped down and then build back up into something completely different. For example, turning corn into cereal or potatoes into chips, and who does not love a good, salty, crunchy snack every once in a while? And don't get me started on refined sugar, since that's the silent sidekick, the sidekick we don't want. It is actually hiding in so much of what we eat, even the stuff marketed as healthy, and it's actually a huge reason why you're constantly craving, crashing, or just feeling completely off. Now, you don't need to cut everything out cold turkey, but you do need to know what you're really eating and how it's showing up in your body.
