The speaker introduces their podcast and the topic of the day, which is the water cycle. They express their curiosity about water and its origins. They emphasize the importance of water for survival and the need to conserve it, especially considering that only 3% of water is fresh and usable. They explain the different states of water (liquid, gas, and solid) and describe the process of evaporation, condensation, and precipitation that makes up the water cycle. They also mention the phenomenon of fishes falling from the sky during storms and their personal experience of witnessing it in Cambodia. They conclude by mentioning the small percentage of water in the atmosphere as water vapor. HIP HIP HOORAY, HAP HAP HELLO, GOOD MORNING EVERYBODY, GOOD MORNING TO ALL YOU LADIES, YOU KIDS, YOU GENTLEMEN OUT THERE, AND WELCOME BACK TO ANOTHER EPISODE OF RZ NERDZY, TO THOSE WHO AREN'T HERE, HERE'S A LITTLE RECAP OF WHAT WE DO, SO, BASICALLY, EVERY DAY, EVERY EPISODE, WE HAVE A NEW TOPIC THAT WE BREAK DOWN AND TALK ABOUT, AND, TYPICALLY IT'S ACADEMIC RELATED STUFF AND IT'S GOOD KNOWLEDGE TO HAVE, SO I ENCOURAGE YOU ALL TO JOIN ME EVERY WEEK TO LISTEN TO OUR PODCAST, BUT, FOR TODAY'S EPISODE, WE ARE ON A VERY, WHAT WAS THE WORD, VAST TOPIC, IT'S VERY BIG, I WANT YOU ALL TO TAKE A GUESS OF WHAT YOU THINK IT COULD BE ABOUT, TAKE A LITTLE GUESS, SOMETHING THAT'S BIG, LIKE THERE'S A LOT OF IT, ALRIGHTY, ARE YOU READY, IT'S WATER, YEAH, WELL, TO BE MORE PRECISE, IT'S THE WATER CYCLE THAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT TODAY, AND I'M ACTUALLY VERY, VERY EXCITED ABOUT THIS TOPIC, BECAUSE I'VE ALWAYS BEEN SO CURIOUS ABOUT WATER, LIKE, WHERE DID WATER COME FROM, HOW DID IT FORM, HOW DOES THE EARTH JUST RANDOMLY GET WATER HOWEVER BILLION YEARS AGO WHEN THE EARTH STARTED GETTING WATER, LIKE, THIS TOPIC, I'M VERY PASSIONATE ABOUT IT BECAUSE I'M VERY CURIOUS ABOUT THINGS THAT RELATE TO NATURE, AND I LOVE THE OCEAN, I LOVE WATER, OKAY, A LITTLE SECRET, BUT, I'M ACTUALLY SCARED OF FISHES, BUT I LOVE THE OCEAN, AND I LOVE THE LAKE, AND I LOVE WATER, BUT I'M SCARED TO GO INTO BEACHES AND LAKES BECAUSE I'M SCARED OF FISHES BITING ME, EVEN IF THEY'RE, LIKE, SUPER, SUPER SMALL, IT'S JUST SOMETHING I'VE ALWAYS BEEN SCARED ABOUT EVER SINCE I WAS, LIKE, REALLY YOUNG, OKAY, BEFORE WE GET STRAIGHT INTO THE WATER CYCLE, I WANT TO DO A LITTLE BACKGROUND CHECK, A LITTLE BACKGROUND KNOWLEDGE, ON WATER, AND TELL YOU GUYS SOME RESEARCH THAT I'VE DONE RELATING TO WATER, AND WHY WATER IS IMPORTANT, AND GIVE YOU GUYS A SENSIBLE IDEA ON WHY YOU SHOULD CONTINUE LISTENING TO THIS PODCAST ABOUT THE WATER CYCLE, I KNOW IT MAKES ME BORED, LIKE, UGH, WATER, THAT'S SO BORING, THERE'S SOMETHING COOL ABOUT IT, BUT I PROMISE YOU, IT'S VERY INTERESTING AND ENTERTAINING. SO, LET ME GIVE YOU GUYS A LITTLE BACKGROUND KNOWLEDGE OF THIS WHOLE CONCEPT. SO, ACCORDING TO MEDICAL NEWS TODAY, IT'S AN ARTICLE, AND IT SAID, A PERSON MAY ONLY SURVIVE A FEW DAYS WITHOUT WATER. VARIOUS FACTORS AFFECT HOW MUCH WATER FOR THIS REASON, IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO TELL PRECISELY HOW LONG A PERSON CAN LIVE WITHOUT WATER. NOW, I THINK THAT IS INSANELY CRAZY, AND I WOULD SAY IT'S MIND-BLOWING, BECAUSE IT'S COMMON KNOWLEDGE TO KNOW THAT YOUR BODY NEEDS WATER IN ORDER TO SURVIVE, HOW WE EAT FOOD, OR TO HAVE ENERGY AND LIFT THROUGH FUEL AND WATER. BUT, I GET A SENSE THAT THIS IS JUST ONE OF THOSE TOPICS THAT NEEDS TO BE SAID OUT LOUD TO UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE OF IT, WHICH IS WHY I WANTED TO SAY IT OUT LOUD TO ALL OF YOU LISTENERS OUT THERE, TO GIVE YOU GUYS A LITTLE REALITY CHECK ON HOW, I WANT TO SAY REALITY CHECK, BUT A LITTLE WAKE UP CALL, TO REALIZE HOW IMPORTANT WATER IS AND HOW WE SHOULD TREASURE IT MORE, ESPECIALLY FRESH WATER, BECAUSE I KNOW SO MANY PEOPLE OUT THERE, WHEN THEY'RE DOING THE DISHES, THEY JUST LEAVE THE WATER RUNNING ON THE SINK, AND THAT IS SO WASTEFUL OF FRESH WATER, SEEING HOW WE, 97% OF WATER IS OCEAN WATER, AND THAT IS FAULTED WATER THAT WE CAN'T USE, SO ONLY 3%, ABOUT 3% OF WATER THAT IS FRESH AND WE CAN USE, AND PEOPLE ARE WASTING IT, WHILE THEY'RE DOING THE DISHES, LETTING IT RUN ON FOR LIKE 30 SECONDS WITHOUT DOING ANYTHING WITH IT, I THINK THAT IS VERY WASTEFUL, I'M SORRY IF I'M ATTACKING YOU OUT THERE, BUT PLEASE, CHANGE YOUR HABITS, IF YOU WANT MORE WATER FOR OUR ENVIRONMENT, YOU KNOW, BUT YEAH, OKAY, I THINK THAT NOW, I'M GONNA REALLY GET INTO, NOT REALLY, I THINK THAT NOW, I'M GOING TO START GETTING INTO THE TALK OF WATER CYCLE, AND LET ME GIVE YOU GUYS A LITTLE, I'LL START OFF SLOW, AND THEN WE WILL PROGRESSIVELY TALK MORE AND MORE ABOUT IT, SO THERE'S THIS TEXTBOOK CALLED BIO N-100, BASIC COMPLEX, I'M SORRY, YOU GUYS, I CANNOT TALK, I FEEL LIKE I HAVE TO LIST, BUT, SORRY, ANYWAYS, OKAY, ACCORDING TO A TEXTBOOK CALLED BIO N-100, BASIC CONCEPT AND BIODIVERSITY, THIS IS WHAT THEY SAID, WATER ON EARTH IS BILLIONS OF YEARS OLD, HOWEVER, INDIVIDUAL WATER MOLECULES KEEP MOVING THROUGH THE WATER CYCLE, THE WATER IS A GLOBAL RECYCLE, WHAT THIS MEANS IS THAT WATER RECYCLES ITSELF AND WE REUSE THE WATER, LET ME GET INTO HOW THE WATER RECYCLES ITSELF FOR YOU GUYS, BUT BEFORE THAT, DO YOU GUYS KNOW THE 3 DIFFERENT STAGES, NOT STAGES, STATES OF WATER? IT'S, THERE IS LIQUID, THERE IS GAS, AND THERE IS SOLID, THE LIQUID IS THE WATER, OBVIOUSLY, THE GAS IS WATER VAPOR, AND THE SOLID IS OBVIOUSLY ICE, AND AFTER READING THROUGH ALL OF THOSE WORDS AND SENTENCES, IN THE TEXTBOOK, BIO 100, BASIC CONCEPTS, AND BIODIVERSITY, THIS IS WHAT I LEARNED ABOUT THE WATER CYCLE, SO WHAT HAPPENS FIRST IS THAT THE WATER, NOT WATER, THE SUN HEATS UP THE WATER IN RIVERS, LAKES, AND OCEANS, AND THAT TURNS THE WATER INTO WATER VAPOR, AND AFTER IT TRANSFORMS, OR EVAPORATES, OR TURNS INTO WATER VAPOR, OH, THIS PROCESS IS CALLED EVAPORATION, SO AFTER THE WATER EVAPORATES INTO WATER VAPOR, IT RISES INTO THE AIR, LIKE, IT SLIDES UP INTO THE ATMOSPHERE, AND THEN, AS THE WATER VAPOR RISES, DARK CLOUDS, IT'S, WELL, FIRST IT COOLS, AND IT FORMS TINY WATER DROPLETS, AND THESE WATER DROPLETS GATHER TOGETHER, AND THEN THEY FORM CLOUDS IN THE SKY, YOU KNOW, THOSE GREY CLOUDS THAT WE SEE VERY OFTEN IN WASHINGTON STATE, IF YOU'RE FROM WASHINGTON STATE, I'M FROM WASHINGTON STATE, AND I SEE IT VERY OFTEN, UNFORTUNATELY, IT'S VERY SAD, I KNOW, BUT, ANYWAYS, UM, AND THEN, AFTER IT FORMS THOSE GREY CLOUDS, IN A PROCESS CALLED CONDENSATION, IT MOVES ON TO ANOTHER PROCESS CALLED PARTICIPATION, AND IN THIS PROCESS, THE CLOUDS BECOME HEAVY WEIGHT WATER DROPLETS, AND THEN IT RELEASES THE RAIN DOWN BACK TO MOTHER NATURE, BACK TO EARTH, BACK TO EARTH'S SURFACE, IN THE FORM OF EITHER RAIN, SNOW, OR FLEET, OR HAIL, AND THAT IS HOW, THAT'S THE BASIC CONCEPT OF HOW THE WATER CYCLE IS, SO IT'S JUST, BECAUSE, YOU KNOW, WATER EVAPORATES, IF YOU LEAVE WATER OUT ON YOUR COUNTER FOR LIKE A DAY OR TWO, YOU COME BACK AND IT'S GONE BECAUSE IT EVAPORATED, BUT, IT EVAPORATES, IT GOES UP INTO THE ATMOSPHERE AGAIN, THEN IT RAINS BACK DOWN, AND IT REPEATS AFTER IT DOES ALL OF THAT, SEE, WATER ACTUALLY COLLECTS IN BODIES OF WATER, LIKE RIVERS, LAKES, AND OCEANS, AND SOMETIMES, NOT SOMETIMES, ALL THE TIME TO THE GROUND, IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD, OR IN THE DRAIN IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD, AND SO FORTH, AND THEN, THAT PROCESS IS CALLED COLLECTION, AND IT ALL REPEATS ALL OVER AGAIN. A LITTLE QUICK WORD OF THE DAY HERE, IF YOU GUYS DON'T KNOW WHAT SLEET IS, I'VE PERSONALLY NEVER SEEN SLEET MYSELF, BUT IT'S BASICALLY A FORM OF, IT'S NOT HAIL, BUT IT'S ALSO NOT SNOW, IT'S KINDA LIKE A COMBINATION OF BOTH, AND I BELIEVE IT HAPPENS IN A WEATHER CONDITION WHERE IT'S WARM, BUT IT'S ALSO COLD, SO, IT FORMS THIS THING CALLED SLEET. AND, IT'S LIKE, IT'S HAIL, BUT IT'S DARKER, I BELIEVE, AND, IT'S VERY INTERESTING, I DON'T THINK I WANNA EXPERIENCE WHAT SLEET IS, I FEEL LIKE IT WOULD'VE HURT, LIKE, ACTUAL ROCK, SO, THAT WOULD BE SCARY IF IT JUST FELL OUT OF THE SKY. SPEAKING ABOUT FALLING OUT OF THE SKY, I HAVE NEVER HEARD ANYONE TALK ABOUT THIS, AND I'M NOT 100% SURE IF MY CHILDHOOD WAS VERY IMAGINATIVE OR IF IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED, BUT I SWEAR THAT IT RAINED FISHES IN CAMBODIA. HERE'S A LITTLE SIDE STORY FOR Y'ALL, SO, FACT, I USED TO LIVE IN CAMBODIA, IT'S SOUTHEAST ASIA, AND, WHEN IT'S NEAR THE EQUATOR, SO, THE WEATHER THERE IS ALWAYS WARM, AND THORNS, OR, THORNS, THEY'RE SCARY, NOT SCARY, THEY DON'T HAVE HURRICANES, I DON'T THINK THEY HAVE HURRICANES, I DON'T KNOW, I'VE NEVER SEEN A BIG HURRICANE LIKE THOSE ONES YOU SEE ON SOCIAL MEDIA OR TV, LIKE IN FLORIDA AND STUFF, BUT, I DON'T LIVE NEAR WATER IN CAMBODIA, SO, I WOULDN'T SEE TSUNAMIS EITHER WAY, BUT, BESIDES THE POINT, WHEN IT RAINS, IT STORMS REALLY BAD, WITH A LOT OF THUNDER, AND IT RAINS SUPER HARD, AND, SOMETIMES, AFTER A BIG HARD RAIN, I GO OUTSIDE, AND, ON MY COFFEE STAIRS OUTSIDE, I SEE FISHES LAYING ON THE STAIRS, I DIDN'T DO MUCH RESEARCH, IF I COULD, ABOUT THIS TOPIC, BUT, THERE IS VERY LIMITED INFORMATION ABOUT IT, BECAUSE, I FEEL LIKE, NO ONE TALKS ABOUT IT, I'VE NEVER HEARD ABOUT IT, BUT, I THINK IT'S REALLY COOL, PHENOMENAL, BUT, I THINK THAT, MAYBE, YOU KNOW WHAT, YOU KNOW WHAT I THINK, I THINK THAT, LIKE, BECAUSE, OUR TOWN FLOODS A LOT, AND, THERE'S LIKE, A LOT OF THORNS IN IT, KIND OF, NOT REALLY, BUT, I THINK, THAT MAYBE, IT WAS JUST LIKE, THORN, ONE OF, THE THORNS, THE FISHES, JUST LIKE, GOT UP ON THE POND, SOMEHOW, AND THEN, IT CAME TO OUR HOUSE, OR SOMETHING, BUT, THEN AGAIN, I DID READ THIS ARTICLE, BUT, THEN AGAIN, I DID READ THIS ARTICLE, WRITTEN BY LIVE SCIENCE STAFF, TITLED, SNIPPET OF RAINFISH, WRITTEN IN 2012, AND IT SAID, THE FISH CAN'T FLY THOUGH, THEY GET SUCKED UP IN LAKES OR OCEAN BY WATER SPROUTS DURING A STORM, THE STRONG WIND IN THESE STORMS CAN SOMETIMES CARRY DISPLACED WATER, FROGS, OR EATED SNAKES FOR MILES INLAND BEFORE DROPPING THEM ON UNSUSPECTING TOWNS. SO, THERE ARE TWO OPTIONS, EITHER, NUMBER ONE, I'M A VERY IMAGINATIVE KID, AND I CAN'T TELL WHAT'S REAL AND WHAT I IMAGINED, OR TWO, IT DID HAPPEN AND THE FISHES WERE CARRIED THROUGH THE STORMS. EITHER WAY, I THINK THIS IS A VERY INTERESTING TOPIC AND FULL PHENOMENAL, AND I HOPE I CAN SEE IT AGAIN, AND I HOPE THAT I CAN CONFIRM MY SUSPICION OR NOT WHEN I GO TO CAMBODIA AGAIN, BUT THEN, WHEN I DO GO, IT'S DURING SUMMER BREAK, I'M NOT GOING THIS YEAR, PROBABLY, MAYBE NEXT YEAR, WE'LL SEE, BUT, I DO GO DURING SUMMER BREAK, AND DURING THOSE TIMES, IT DOESN'T STORM THAT HARD, SO, I DON'T KNOW. ANYWAY, SORRY FOR GETTING SIDETRACKED, BUT THAT COOL? WHAT A SIDE TALK. AND, ACCORDING TO THE NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC, THERE IS ACTUALLY 0.001% OF WATER IN THE ATMOSPHERE EXISTING AS WATER VAPOR. I THINK THAT ONLY 0.001% OF WATER GOES UP IN THE SKY AND THEN IT POURS RAIN DOWN LIKE CRAZY. THAT JUST HELPS YOU IMAGINE HOW MUCH WATER THERE IS ON EARTH. LIKE, JUST THINK ABOUT IT. JUST THINK THAT THE LAND IS SO VAST AND THERE IS SO MUCH LAND ON EARTH, BUT, ACTUALLY, ABOUT 75% OF OUR PLANET IS COVERED BY WATER OR ICE. THAT IS CRAZY. 75%, THAT MEANS THAT THERE IS ONLY 25% THAT IS LAND. THE PACIFIC OCEAN IS SO VAST AND ALL THE OTHER OCEANS COMBINED, THAT WE BARELY HAVE ANY LAND, WE HAVE SO MUCH WATER. BUT, OBVIOUSLY, MOST OF THAT WATER IS OCEAN WATER AND WE CANNOT DRINK BALTIC OCEAN WATER, UNFORTUNATELY. BUT, STILL, IT IS VERY IMPRESSIVE TO THINK ABOUT. SPEAKING OF OCEANS AND SURFACES, HAVE YOU GUYS EVER HEARD OF POINT NEMO? I KNOW I HAVEN'T. AND, APPARENTLY, THIS POINT, WELL, ACTUALLY, NOW I HAVE. I LEARNED ABOUT IT A COUPLE DAYS AGO. BUT, BASICALLY, POINT NEMO IS, APPARENTLY, THE FARMEST POINT ON EARTH. THIS POINT IS LOCATED IN THE PACIFIC OCEAN AND IT'S THE FARMEST POINT FROM ANY SORT OF LAND THAT YOU'RE CLOSE TO THE SPACE IN ANY LAND AT ALL. I HEARD THAT PLANES USUALLY AVOID FLYING OVER POINT NEMO BECAUSE THAT'S TERRIFYING IF YOU HAVE TO LAND NEAR IT. BUT, I JUST THINK THAT THE FACT THAT YOU EVEN HAVE A POINT ON EARTH IN THE OCEAN WHERE WE'RE CLOSE TO THE SPACE IS TERRIFYING AND SCARY AND I WISH THAT DID NOT EXIST BECAUSE I'M SCARED TO FLY NOW. BUT, ANYWAYS, YEAH, OUR WATER CYCLE IS WHAT RECYCLES THE WATER AND THAT HELPS US KEEP HAVING WATER ON OUR PLANET FOR US TO DRINK AND CONSUME AND SURVIVE AND DO THE DISHES AND TAKE SHOWERS AND STUFF. YOU KNOW, THINKING ABOUT THE WATER CYCLE REALLY MAKES ME REALIZE HOW IMPORTANT THE SUN IS. I'VE ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT THE SUN IS JUST THERE TO GIVE US WARMTH AND SUNLIGHT, BUT WITHOUT THE SUN, WATER CAN'T TURN INTO WATER VAPOR AND WE WOULD HAVE TO REPEATEDLY GO ON AN ADVENTURE FAR AWAY JUST TO TRY TO GET WATER AND THEN ONCE WE RUN OUT OF FRESH WATER IT'S OVER BECAUSE THERE'S NO WATER VAPOR IN THE SKY TO POUR RAIN AND OUR LAND WOULD BE SO DRY WITHOUT rain and our crops would be dead. Imagine how terrible life would be without the sun and water because the heat of the sun is what turns the water into water vapor and rises up into the sky. Also, without the sun, we would be dead because it'd be too dark and too cold so that's just crazy but when I learned about it I was in shock of how important the sun is. I've never fully realized how much of a significant role the sun plays in our solar system and our planet. If the sun explodes you know I want to know because well I might know it's big for like millions of years like years ago but I don't want to know I want to keep living and I want to be happy and live a good life. Like what do you guys think will end first water or civilization? I think that um civilization will end first 100% because there's just way too much water on the planet for it to come to an end. I really hope that I never live to find out. I don't think I will because if it happens maybe like a couple thousand years or a couple hundred thousands of years and I will you know that's too that's too much to think about and I won't think about it. I'm just happy that our water cycle is thriving and it's good right now. Sorry I just kicked some glasses. Anyway I think we have come to the end of our episode of listen learning today talking about the water cycle and I would like to thank everyone that listened this far and thank you for supporting me and my podcast. I'm very grateful for all of you and to show my appreciation I want to tell you guys a little joke and you guys better laugh you don't laugh I'm gonna cry okay so what is water's favorite kind of dance? Think about it I'll give you a few seconds. It's tap. Get it? Because like tap water and like tapping. Oh come on you guys are so boring okay whatever I'm just hey my joke was good okay I think I'm funny I think I'm very funny which is one of my dad jokes that I definitely didn't find on the internet or anything and I totally made it made it up but thank you for listening to today's podcast and there's a good opportunity for next week's episode. I'm thinking maybe talk about the sun or the solar system. I'm very interested in talking about the solar system. It's such a it's so big like compare it to the solar system or earth it's literally just smaller than an ant probably probably an ant poop. So ant poop I've never seen I don't okay sorry um I don't think I want to see an ant poop either but yeah if you're new here thank you for listening again and I really appreciate each and every one of you and next week we will talk about the solar system like I said or maybe the sun please leave a suggestion and don't forget to drink your water I think just drink a gallon daily you know I certainly need some water after talking so much I think I yapped too much sometimes but I like to yap this is why I have a podcast and you guys like to listen to my yapping and meanwhile I yap you guys do also learn new things every day so it's a win-win situation and no one's losing and I certainly learned a lot from today's podcast and I hope that you guys did as well be sure to go up to your friends and family and tell them some fun facts that you learned today like how there's 0.001% of water vapor in the atmosphere or how 75% of earth is water I think that's very cool yes and or how 97% of water is ocean water but anywho thank you everybody and I will see you next time peace out
