The talk about resistance should shift from viewing it as self-sabotage to seeing it as wisdom and protection. Resistance is your body's way of ensuring safety and discernment in growth. It's important to listen to the part of you that says to slow down and integrate new experiences gradually rather than rushing into transformation. Forcing security can backfire, as true security grows through consent and understanding your body's need for safety. Embracing resistance as part of the healing process and moving with fear rather than trying to eliminate it is key. Let's change the way we talk about resistance, because resistance is often labeled as self-sabotage. But what if it's not? What if resistance is actually wisdom? Resistance as protection. Your nervous system doesn't block growth randomly. It blocks growth that feels unsafe. If you're hesitating, if part of you pulls back, that part is likely trying to make sure you're not rushing into something your system isn't ready to hold. That's not failure. That's discernment. The part of you that says, slow down. There's often a part of us that says, this is moving too fast. This feels unfamiliar. I'm not ready. We tend to override that voice in the name of healing, but true security listens to it. Integration over transformation. Healing isn't about becoming someone else overnight. It's about integrating new experiences slowly. Letting your body catch up to your insight. Letting safety become familiar. That takes time. Why forcing security backfires. You can't bully your nervous system into peace. When you force yourself to tolerate something your body hasn't learned yet, you create more fear, not less. Security grows through consent. Ask a different question. Instead of, why can't I just get over this? Try, why does this part of me need to feel safe right now? That question builds trust internally. Here's a soft truth. You don't need to eliminate fear to heal. You need to know how to move with it. Your resistance isn't the enemy. It's part of the conversation.
