*Click on the bird pictures to play the sounds.* About my project: I translated these bird sounds first into visual spectrograms, and then into words. Through the translation into human language, the sounds get extremely simplified — just like how our brains experience a much simpler version of birdsongs than birds do, because our brains cannot comprehend the small tonal shifts and rhythmic details that are crucial for them in their communication with each other.
