This piece was developed from a 3-voiced piece for violin and piano as a presend for a Chinese conductor whom I know. I heard such melodies the first time at an advertisement for an ballet and music ensemble that is performing old trad. Chinese dances and music pieces and had made a tour trough Europe some years ago. Alas, the tickets were been to expensive for my personally but I saw and heard this short advertisement clip and I got the idea to connect Western canon art with Eastern melodies.
