All right, so let's dive into this New Jersey drone thing. You've sent over a ton of stuff, articles, reports, even some leaked documents it seems like here. It's wild. I mean, the public is fascinated, but I am too. Yeah, everyone is fascinated by these sightings. What's got everyone's attention is that these aren't just your average, everyday drone. This is something way more advanced and frankly unsettling. Exactly. And they've been popping up everywhere since like mid-November. Yeah. And the descriptions are crazy. Right. Witnesses are saying these drones are huge, like as big as SUVs. I mean, the size alone is enough to make you think twice, but it's more than that. They fly in formation and they even like go dark when someone sees them. Yeah, it's really weird. It suggests that the technology and coordination is beyond anything you can just buy. Right. And they've been seen over military bases too, like Bigatini, our Naval Weapons Station Earl. Yeah. What is he doing there? Well, the military has confirmed the sightings. Really? Yeah. Which I think is pretty significant. Yeah. Think about it. They're operating in restricted airspace over these really sensitive places and they haven't been stopped. Right. No one knows who they are. So it really begs the question, who was behind this and what are they doing? So we've got huge, unidentified drones flying in formation, going dark over military bases. It's like a movie. I know. It's like a sci-fi movie. And people are freaking out. I get it. Yeah. People try and fill in the blanks when they don't know what's happening. Yeah. But let's just stick to what we know and see what we find. Okay. Back to the evidence. Yeah. We've got eyewitness reports, official statements from the military, and a bunch of news articles. But you send over something really interesting, a leaked comment from a DOD employee- Oh, yeah. Who mentions HPG. Oh. Now, I'll admit, I had to Google that one. High-Purity Germanium. Right. It's a type of detector mostly used to detect radiation. Okay. It can identify specific types of radioactive material even at low levels. Wow. So why would a drone need a radiation detector? Yeah. What are they looking for in New Jersey? I mean, that's the big question, isn't it? Yeah. There are reasons to use that kind of technology, like environmental monitoring or inspections for nuclear security, that kind of thing. But with all the secrecy around these drones, it just seems like there's something else going on. So this HPG thing really changes things. Yeah. It really throws a wrench into a lot of the theories out there. Right. Let's look at some of them. Okay. Like misidentified aircraft. Okay. I mean, how do you mistake a drone the size of an SUV for a plane, especially when they're flying in formation at night? Yeah. And the military has confirmed it. Right. Now, these are highly trained people who are in charge of airspace security. They know what a drone looks like, and they know what a plane looks like. Right. This is different. Okay. So scratch misidentified aircraft. Mm-hmm. What about foreign adversaries like China or Russia? Are they snooping around? I mean, it's an interesting idea, especially with everything going on in the world right now. Right. But why would they do surveillance like that? Yeah. It just seems way too obvious. Right. Flying these huge drones over U.S. territory is like asking for trouble. Yeah. You'd think if it was them, they'd want to be more careful. And wouldn't they use stealth technology or something? Exactly. Yeah. Yeah. It's strange that they're being so bold almost. Yeah. Like they want to be seen but not understood. Okay. So what about commercial activity? Okay. Is it some company doing shady research or like industrial espionage? It's possible. Yeah. There are really strict rules from the FAA about commercial drone operations, especially at night and near sensitive areas. Right. These drones seem to be ignoring all of that. And if it were a company, wouldn't they have come forward by now? Yeah. With all this media attention. Right. You'd think they'd want to clear their name. Yeah. It's weird that no one has said anything. So where does that leave us? I don't know. We've ruled out the obvious explanations, and now we're left with what? Mass hysteria. I mean... It's like a giant hallucination over multiple states. I know it's tempting to think people are overreacting. Right. Especially with how much anxiety there is these days. Yeah. But there are so many reports. Yeah. And the descriptions are all so similar. And it's not just, you know, official sources are confirming it too. Right. We're not talking about some blurry photos from people's phones. Exactly. There are pilot reports, radar data, even military personnel who say they saw them too. It's more than just a few people seeing things. Yeah. This is real. Uh-huh. There's a lot of evidence that something strange is happening. Okay. So things are getting pretty spooky. Yeah. We've got unidentified drones, maybe with radiation detectors. Right. Ignoring the rules and flying over military bases. Yeah. It's starting to sound like we need to look into that secret government program theory. Let's not go there yet, but we do need to talk about the government's response or really lack of response. They haven't been very helpful, have they? No. It's all very hush-hush. Yeah. We can't look into it. We can't comment on ongoing investigations. Exactly. And that just makes people speculate even more. Yeah. If they would just tell us something, it wouldn't be so bad. Right. When people don't have answers, they make them up themselves. So what about how this affects people? Yeah. You sent over a news clip about a medical helicopter being delayed- Right. Because of the drones. That's scary. Yeah. It's not just a fun mystery. Right. This is real and it could have serious consequences. Yeah. What if you need to get to the hospital and you can't because of these things? Yeah. There are real safety and security concerns here. And it's not just about physical safety. Right. People see these things. They don't know what they are. And no one is giving them answers. It's unsettling. Yeah. There's this feeling of not knowing who to believe or what to trust. Right. And that's not good. So we've got a situation that's confusing and potentially dangerous and definitely creepy. And the people who could tell us what's going on are silent. What do we do now? We need to look at all the explanations, even the crazy ones. And we need to look at the evidence, the official statements, the leaked information, even what people are saying online to try and figure this out. Because something is happening here. Yeah. Something we can't explain. And as scary as that might be, we need to know what it is. I agree. We can't let fear or speculation take over. Yeah. We need to be informed. We need to think critically. And we need to keep asking questions. Right. Let's take a break here. And when we come back, we'll dig deeper into these potential explanations and try to separate fact from fiction. Sounds good. So we were talking about those drone sightings and how no one seems to know what's going on. Yeah. It's really frustrating. I mean, we looked at some explanations already. Right. Like it wasn't a plane or some other country snooping around. Exactly. But what about commercial activity? Okay. Yeah. It could be some company doing research or maybe even spying on other companies. It's a thought. Right. Drone tech is getting better all the time. Yeah. And companies are using them for all kinds of things. Yes. But they just feel different, the number of drones, the tech they're using. Right. And they don't seem to care about the rules. Yeah. You think a company would want to avoid attention, especially if they were doing something shady. Exactly. But we haven't heard anything from any company saying these drones are theirs. Right. It's like they're trying to stay hidden. So if it's not the government and it's not a company, then who is it? Okay. So let's talk about the other possibility, the one everyone's thinking about. The government. The secret government program. Yeah. Is there anything in those documents you have that supports that? There's nothing that says for sure. Yeah. But there are some things that make me wonder, like that comment from the DOD employee about the HPG detectors. Right. And the fact that these drones were seen over military bases. It's like something out of a movie. I know, right? Yeah. Secret government drones with radiation detectors flying around at night. So what could they be looking for? If we say it is a government program, what would they be doing? Maybe it's surveillance. But it's not the kind we usually think about. Not like listening to phone calls or spying on people online. No. Something bigger. Maybe they're looking for nuclear stuff. Nuclear stuff. Yeah. You know, like signs of nuclear activity or tracking radioactive material or even looking for secret nuclear sites. That would make sense with the radiation detectors and why it's all so secret. Right. But why New Jersey? It's not exactly a place you'd think about for nuclear stuff. That's true. But New Jersey does have some important locations. Like what? Ports, power plants, military bases, things like that. So maybe they're not looking for something specific, but just using New Jersey as like a test. Maybe they're trying out these drones, seeing how well they work at detecting and tracking things. That would explain why they're keeping it quiet. No one wants to talk about a new secret technology. Especially one this powerful. But it also makes you wonder, you know, if the government is doing this kind of surveillance, even for a good reason, where do we draw the line? How much privacy are we willing to give up for security? Those are tough questions, and we as a society need to figure that out. Right. But we're getting ahead of ourselves. Yeah. We're still making a lot of guesses here. We need more information, more evidence to really know what's going on. We need to be careful not to jump to conclusions. Yeah. But it would help if the government was more open about it. Right. Their silence just makes people more suspicious. Exactly. It's like they're saying, trust us, but they're not giving us any reason to. And that brings us to the public. How are people reacting to all of this? Well, people are worried, and they want answers. Yeah, I can understand that. They want to know what's happening in their skies, and they want to feel safe. Right. We've seen all sorts of reactions. Some people are curious, some are scared, some are angry. It's a crazy situation. And the media isn't helping. It's a story that grabs people's attention. A real-life mystery with secret technology and government cover-ups. Yeah. It's like the perfect story to make people anxious. But beyond all that, there's a real need for information. Right. People need to know what's happening. And the government needs to tell them. Yeah. Ignoring it or pretending it, nothing will just make things worse. It'll make people even more distrustful. We need a balance. I agree. Something that addresses security concerns, but also respects people's right to know what's going on. Right now, it feels like the government is choosing security over transparency. Yeah. That can be dangerous. It can lead to people not trusting institutions and create a climate of fear and suspicion. This isn't just about drones. It's about the relationship between the government and the people. It's about trust and openness and finding that balance between safety and freedom. These are big, important questions, and ones we'll keep exploring in our last segment. We'll look at the political side of things. The demands for transparency and what this all means for the future. Welcome back to the Deep Dive. We've been talking about this drone mystery in New Jersey. And it seems like the more we learn, the less we know. Yeah. It's definitely a puzzle. We've looked at different ideas, like maybe it was a plane or another country. Right. But the evidence points to something else. Yeah. Something more hidden. Yeah. And the government being so quiet about it just makes it worse. I agree. It's like they're confirming everyone's suspicions by not saying anything. You sent me some articles and news clips about how elected officials are getting frustrated. Oh, yeah. They're feeling the pressure from people who want answers. Right. Their constituents are demanding to know what's going on. Senators Booker and Schumer have been pretty vocal about it. They're calling for more transparency from the government agencies involved. And even President-elect Trump said something about taking a more aggressive approach. Yeah. Like shooting down the drones. Wow. That seems a little extreme, doesn't it? It does, but I think it shows how worried people are. Yeah. And maybe it's a bit of political showmanship, too. But it also highlights how the government isn't communicating clearly. Ah. If they were more open about it, maybe people wouldn't be so quick to suggest drastic measures. Okay. So let's just say these drones are part of some secret government program. Okay. What does that mean for national security and for the future of drone technology? That's where things get interesting and maybe a little scary. Yeah. If these drones are spying with all that advanced tech, like those HPG detectors, Right. it makes you wonder how much the government is watching us and what it means for our privacy. It's like a line we don't want to cross. Yeah. Where do we stop? When does security become an invasion of our personal lives? Exactly. And because this operation is so secret, we can't even have an open conversation about it. Right. Without transparency and accountability, it's easy to become suspicious and distrustful. You mentioned an academic paper about drone-borne HPG systems. Oh, yeah. What does that tell us about how this technology could be used? Well, that paper talks about how drone radiation detection is really versatile. It can be used for environmental monitoring, managing nuclear waste, even finding people after a nuclear accident. Wow. It shows how this tech can be good, but also how it can be used for more secretive things. It's like a lot of technology. It can be helpful or harmful, depending on who's using it. And that's why it's so important to talk about this now while it's still early. Right. We need to set clear rules and regulations and make sure someone is watching to make sure this technology is used ethically and responsibly. Because if we don't, we might end up in a future where we have no privacy, our freedoms are gone, and we don't trust anyone anymore. And all in the name of security, which could actually make us less safe. That's a scary thought. This whole drone thing is unsettling, but it's a wake-up call. Yeah. It makes us think about how fast technology is changing, how it affects our privacy and safety, and how important it is for the government to be open and honest with us. We can't just ignore this and hope it goes away. No. We need to ask questions, demand answers, and be part of shaping the future we want. Because it's up to us to make sure technology is used to help people not control them. That's a good point to end on, I think. Isn't it a really interesting deep dive? It has. A little scary, but interesting. We have more questions than answers now, but at least we're talking about it. And that's important. Awareness is the first step. So keep looking up, stay informed, and never stop asking questions. Exactly. Thanks for joining us on the Deep Dive.
