Giving students responsibilities in the classroom is important because it helps both the teacher and the students. The students feel important and needed, and they learn about priorities, decision-making, and having choices. When students are dependable and complete tasks correctly, they are given more opportunities to participate and are trusted with bigger tasks. Why is responsibility in a classroom important? We all know that teachers do not just have the job of teaching. They have 15 to 20 little people constantly needing something throughout the day. So giving them responsibilities not only helps the teacher, but it helps the kids tremendously. They feel important and needed. It helps them understand priorities, decision-making, and having choices. They understand that when they're dependable and they do a task correctly and they listen, they're going to be asked to participate in more activities and the teachers are going to trust them with the big task.
