Wear once-bloomed roses of crimson hues, Now petals of ash wither and fall. I am parched like drought-ridden earth, Bursting with dew your lips. I search for you in shadows of the night, Yet you are swallowed up in mists of melancholia, Your essence fading in swirling spirals of smoke From the dying embers of fiery passion. Such sorrow stains my aching heart As the vision of you dissipates to dust before my eyes, Starving for the sight of you. Within colliginous corridors of my mind The spectre of our love haunts nostalgic nights Where sweet memories abide still to torment my everlasting yearning. Now I must bid farewell to romance As my benumbed senses fail to rouse emotions. All I perceive before me are gunmetal clouds Which the sun cannot persuade to welcome her smile. My weary soul seeks succour from sleep Where you and I lie together in moonlit dreams That ease my lamentation. My heart is incarcerated in an icy prison To which only you hold the key, And forevermore I am burned to solitude Without even the song of a lark to soothe. Alone with the mere touch of reminiscence To caress my sombre spirit, I whisper goodbye to romance, For only within your embrace lies solace for my weeping wounds. Thanks for watching!
