Muslims face discrimination through policies such as hijab bans and restrictions on mosque construction. These policies are a result of misunderstandings caused by biased reporting and ignorance about Islamic values. One misconception is that Islam promotes violence, but this is based on cherry-picked instances and lacks context. Islamic teachings explicitly condemn the killing of innocent people. Another misconception is that all Muslims are radical, but the majority reject radical individuals. Nowadays some muslims suffer from discriminatory policies such as hijab bans and mosque construction restrictions. These policies can be linked of course to misunderstandings about Islam that is caused by biased reporting, ignorance about Islamic terms and values. And that's the topic I want to open next. I want to discuss some misconceptions, wrong assumptions and disprove them. So let's address some common misconceptions about Islam propagated by anti-muslim rhetoric. It is clearly stated in the Quran Whoever kills a soul, unless for a soul or for corruption done in the land, it is as if he killed mankind entirely. And whoever saves one soul, it is as if he had saved mankind entirely. Next, as Kaya Sertar claims in Islamophobia in Western Europe Prejudiced individuals often fail to differentiate between practicing and non-practicing Muslims. And he also states that radicalists who claim to follow Islam represent an isolated minority. And overwhelming majority of Muslim people and scholarly Islamic organizations absolutely reject radical individuals.
