„Melancolia“ ist eine Rekomposition der Gitarrenetüde von Fernando Sor (Étude Nr. 22 aus op. 35). Die Gitarrenstimme wurde für Klavier vierhändig eingerichtet und durch eine Oberstimme ergänzt. Die Etüde erklingt eine Oktave tiefer. So entsteht ein klanglicher Raum: Die Begleitung liegt tief, die Melodie hoch.
