Details
This is an instrumental interpretation of a melody from the Christmas carol "While shepherds watched their flocks by night", originally found in Este's Psalter. The variations are increasingly ornate and the frequent use of flutter tonging underscores the cold atmosphere and the shepherds' fright upon seeing the angel. Each instrument takes a turn with the melody, and one of the variations ventures into a minor key. The performance is by Anita Szabó Ildikó Szabady Iza Nagy Boglárka Dávid
