The piano composition, Variations on a theme of Hänschen klein, is a solo piece inspired by the melody of the German children's song, Hänschen klein. The arrangement was adapted into piano variations by Diau-Hua Lim in 2010. This children's song is recognized in various countries, going by Lightly Row in the US, The Butterfly in Japan, and The Working Bee in Taiwan. The highly acclaimed debut of this piano composition was performed by the renowned pianist Chiao-Han Liao at the National Concert Hall in Taipei in 2010. It consists of four variations.
