The Song Of The Birds, or "El cant dels ocells," is a renowned Catalan Christmas tune and lullaby. It narrates the delight of nature upon hearing the news of Jesus Christ's birth in a Bethlehem stable. Pau Casals' instrumental rendition on the cello brought the song to fame beyond Catalonia. In this particular version, the well-known melody is complemented by Simon James' original Classical Guitar accompaniment for a solo voice. The lyrics are in English, borrowed from Joan Baez's use in her 1966 Christmas album, Noel.
