The Higher The Mountain

In 2009, my spouse was anxiously seated in a medical clinic, anticipating the verdict of my medical examination. It was a pleasant day in September, with the sun radiating brightly. The physician entered and conveyed the dreadful diagnosis: I was suffering from cancer. My thoughts were instantly transported back to a melody I had composed about a quarter-century earlier, named 'The higher the Mountain the better the view.' The lyrics continually echoed in my head. My perspective was continually improving, as by 2014, I had been diagnosed with two different types of cancer, along with a recurrence of the initial one.
