This piece was composed from January to March in 1997. It contains thirteen short, seamless movements, each corresponding to a note of the tone row and culminating in a resolution of the row into a slow-paced movement in C major. The movements start with a time signature of one beat per bar, gradually increasing to 13 beats per bar until the final segment of the concluding movement.
