This delightful lullaby hails from Austria and dates back to the 1800s. I enhanced the original by incorporating extra lyrics and making slight alterations to the melody at the conclusion of every verse. The added lyrics are derived from We Three Kings, Silent Night, and What Child is This. Each additional lyric complements the verses of the song and extends the verse. In this version, the verses are distributed among the voices until the final verse. This arrangement is intended for a string quartet and piano. It serves as an excellent accompaniment for the SATB sheet.
