Sonata in G minor for Violin and Piano, op. 12

<b>Mikuláš Schneider-Trnavský,</b> a Slovak composer born in 1881 and died in 1958, was a significant advocate for Slovak music during the first half of the 20th century. He primarily concentrated on the Slovak legacy of folk songs and religious music. Chamber music was not a significant part of Trnavský's oeuvre, with his Sonata in G minor for Violin and Piano, Op. 12, from 1904 standing as his only noteworthy contribution to this genre. This piece reflects aspects of the composer's vibrant youthful character, such as humor and melodic invention.
