Salvation Is Created for clarinet choir

In 1913, Pavel Tschnesnokoff, a Russian composer, originally penned this piece for a mixed choir. This holy composition is performed without instrumental accompaniment. The English interpretation reads as follows: "Salvation is created, in midst of the earth, O God, O our God. Alleluia." (information from: CPDL.org). Despite its choral origins, Bruce Houseknecht composed an arrangement for a concert band in 1957. This adaptation marked my initial encounter with the piece. I believed that the natural resonance of a clarinet choir would suit the work perfectly and proceeded to set it.
