This is a rendition for recorder and guitar based on Orlando di Lasso's choral interpretation of Clément Marot's poem:<br /><br />My heart commends itself to you,<br />Filled with sorrow and torment;<br />At least, despite the envious ones,<br />Let me say goodbye to you!<br />My mouth, which used to laugh at you<br />And speak pleasant words,<br />Now does nothing but curse<br />Those who have banished me from your sight.<br /><br />(My heart remains yours<br />Now filled with sadness and deep despair!)<br />
