Details
This compact composition for bassoon and string orchestra was developed as a segment of a suite created by multiple composers for the Delian Society, inspired by Paul Verlaine's poetry. The first performance was executed by Franck Leblois and the Octava Chamber Orchestra, with the provided audio sample coming from this initial performance several years prior. The string portions are originally derived from my choral interpretation of Gavin Ewart's poem "Alcohol", with the bassoon component adding a finishing touch to make it "more French". The Verlaine excerpt is taken from his work, Bonne.
