Lighthearted At the age of 19, I didn't have the funds to purchase a birthday gift for a dear friend. As an alternative, I composed this song for her. It required a significant amount of practice to perfect it with my then beginner-level skills. I recall how my piano teacher chastised me from the corridor outside my rehearsal room, insisting I should focus on Mozart.
