Ipa Op.17

"Ipa" is a piece of poetry penned by Vito Apshana, an indigenous Colombian from the Wayuu tribe, an ancient society located in northern Colombia. The poem's primary focus is the stone, not simply as a physical entity (as it's often viewed in the developed world), but as a living testament to our forebearers on Earth. Ipa, along with all poetry and devotions originating from Native American cultures, serves as a tribute to Nature and, consequently, a tribute to God. When I translated this stunning poem into a musical composition, I decided to continue.
