Frédéric-Nicolas Duvernoy, born on 16th October 1765 in Montbéliard, was a renowned French composer and horn player who passed away on 19th July 1838 in Paris. He is celebrated for his 1802 work, Méthode pour le cor, which consists of delightful duets now credited to André-Frédéric Eler. André-Frédéric Eler, who hailed from Alsace, France, relocated to Paris in 1764. In 1794, he joined the jury of the Institute National de Musique (later known as the Conservatoire de Musique), where he eventually became a professor. His horn concerto was published.
