"Csikós Post" is a renowned piano composition by the German musician, Hermann Necke (1850-1912). "Csikós" translates to 'horse rider'. The composition partially draws inspiration from Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody No.2, penned in 1847. It enjoys immense popularity as background music during sports days in Japan. In 2006, Diau-Hua Lim arranged this piece for a piano quintet, which was then performed at the National Concert Hall in Taipei. The energetic and imaginative improvisation of the piano and lead violin in this rendition has been greatly admired.
