This is a nine-part oratorio titled "An American Civil War Memorial: 4. Letters from Home," composed by Michael James Karasis. The production is conducted by James MacDonald, with narration provided by Senator Paul Simon. Vocal performances are contributed by soprano Christine Schultze, alto Brooke Tippett Thompson, tenor Lawrence Johnson, and bass Ray Kasman. The orchestral and choral components are performed by The Chicago Businessmen's Orchestra and ARS Musica Chicago. The recording and editing were handled by Lincoln Music Productions, under the engineering supervision of Ken Abeling, with the recording session taking place on March 17.
