A Christmas lullaby (sung by the dwsChorale)

Composed for the Thornesian Prize Competition in April 2003, this piece is a creation for SATB. The composer, having a history of choir singing in his early years until a vocal cord injury, finally decided to compose a choir piece. The music incorporates a modal tune representing the word lullaby and seamlessly intertwines it with the initial phrase of the Coventry Carol from the 15th century. The atmosphere of the incoming angels is evoked through changing modulations and the selective use of certain words and phrases.
