Samuel is documenting his journey from being a broke college student to making money. He wants to earn $50,000 a month but is currently broke with only $300 in his bank account. He does doordash for extra money and plans to go to dental school, which will put him in a lot of debt. Samuel is determined to avoid working a normal job and wants to build his own business. However, he admits to having no knowledge about business. He took a job selling solar to gain sales experience but was not very successful. He has spent the past six months learning about software and service delivery to prepare for his business. Samuel is now launching an ad campaign and is targeting roofers. He is nervous but hopeful that this will be the turning point for him to start making money. What's up guys? I'm Samuel. I'm basically going to be documenting my journey from absolutely broke college student to, you know, eventually making money, hopefully. You know, my goal is $50,000 a month, but we'll see about that. And right now it's 1230. I'm tired. I really don't feel like filming, but, you know, I do things that I don't like. So, here's my current State of the Union address, okay? I'm broke. I have $300 in my bank account. I mean, I call that broke. I doordash for money in my spare time, which I rarely have. My college career path right now, going to college, then dental school. I'm going to be in a shit ton of debt, basically, which is scary. And I'm terrified of working a normal job for the rest of my life. Even if it is a high-paying job, I still have a lot of debt. And it's not how much you make, it's how much you take home. So, I've already spent a ton, so I'm going to be taking home, you know, not that much because I'm going to have huge bills to pay and I don't want to be in debt to anyone. So, why am I doing this? This is partially for accountability, partially also because it's going to be an awesome journey because I'll do anything to not have to work for somebody. I mean, that's like, you know, call it a fighter spirit or rebellious outlaw thing. I am from West Texas, maybe that's it, but I just don't want to have to clock in every day like Spongebob with his little cart. I don't want to have to do that. I feel like if I just put in the work for six months, you know, give up relationships, give up friendships, give up, you know, entertainment and all that BS that just wastes your time and keeps you poor, then I could potentially, you know, what's stopping me from building a business on my own? Well, one thing actually is stopping me, the fact that I know nothing about business. That's a pretty big factor involved in it. So, about six months ago, this whole dream came to me and I was like, this is getting real, you know, I don't want to have to work a job. So, I started planning out my business strategies for the future, just kind of eased my way into it. Guy approached me at the gym and he sees me there all the time, kind of like a gym bro, and he offered me a job selling solar. And I didn't have a job at that point because I was only going to be home for the summer. So, I took it and I learned sales. I read, I don't know if it's here. No, here it is. Wow. I actually do read. Here's the, read the way the wolf, watched a bunch of sales videos and was pretty unsuccessful. Ended up only closing one deal. It wasn't really my fault. All the Californians, they literally come in from California and Utah. The Mormons come in. They buy a home in a newly developing area and they make friends with all the homeowners and they sell the whole neighborhood on solar. That's what's happening. The Mormons from Utah are taking your jobs. The Californians are taking your homes if you live in Texas. But, so I learned how to do sales. And, you know, I think in terms of like, like six months and years, like I think in long term. So, I got the sales job last summer. I read a bunch of books last summer. Now, I'm just in preparation. I was like, I need to do something. And then, right now it's February. Last winter, this past winter, I set up all the software. I learned, I was watching videos every day on software, service delivery, you know, how to set, how to price your service delivery, you know, how to, you know, set all that up. So, I mastered the software, setting up the contracts, invoices, sales pitch. And, you know, six months later, I still have zero dollars. And, it sucks. I'm essentially negative a couple hundred bucks in whatever I, on software and then whatever I spent on the books. And, so what I'm doing right now is the final, final moment before I go positive in my bank account, hopefully. I'm going to launch my ad campaign and I'm just going to show you guys exactly, you know, what that process looks like. It's, it doesn't seem like it's a big deal, but honestly, I'm pretty nervous to do it. It's like everything, you know, six months of, you know, learning sales, learning, reading all the books, mastering the software, all for this moment to, you know, hopefully do the marketing for somebody. So, we'll see. Okay. Okay. This is kind of crazy right here. This is what the ads look like. Yeah, not your stereotypical Facebook ad. You know, I got them from Jeff Miller. I have to pay homage because, you know, he gave me the idea for these, these like standout advertisements that are just not, you know, what you see every day. And, you know, here it is. For the next week or next six days, I'll be spending $15 a day because I'm broke. And then spending a little bit more during these peak times right here, as you can see, like February. Yeah. And I'll be spending a little bit more on these peak times, as you can see, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. whenever everybody's back home from work. And I'm targeting roofers, so I want to make sure that they're interested in home improvement, interested in roof construction, and also must have a business account. And that's how you target even more accurately. Another way you can do it is by finding a custom list on Fiverr. You know, it costs like $100, but, you know, I don't have that. So, if this doesn't work out right here, this type of targeting, $25 to $60, you probably should put men here, but whatever. And also, you could add some politics on there. A lot of times, trade workers, construction workers like that are conservative. So, if I could somehow – I might switch that up in the future. And then – so, here it is. I'm just going to do it here. This is, like, actually making me really nervous right now because this is all the money I have. All right. One ad set and one ad republished. Perfect. All right. So, I'm going to – now I'm just going to get into how to fail-proof this whole system as far as connecting forms from Facebook to your other softwares, making sure there's no errors in the whole system.
