A 23-year-old male patient with severe periodis, headache, acid reflux, and a rash on his upper trunk. He also has non-blanching purpura on his feet and swelling in his hands and knees. He had a strep throat infection and took cephalaxin but stopped after day seven. His blood pressure and heart rate improved after receiving epinephrine. He had an allergic reaction to amoxicillin when he was 14, but no other allergies. Case presentation, medical history about the patient's age, 23 years old, gender, male, health conditions, severe periodis, headache, acute acid reflux, diffuse erythematous rash on upper trunk, non-blanching purpura on feet, symmetrical swelling in hands and knees, inguinal and cervical lymphadenopathy. Previous treatments, he had a strep throat infection, mistaking cephalaxin, but stopped after day seven. Vitals, blood pressure 88 over 54, then 111 over 67, five minutes after 0.3 milligrams of epinephrine was injected intermuscularly. Heart rate, 110, then 82, five minutes after 0.3 of epinephrine was injected intermuscularly. Temperature, 101 degrees Fahrenheit. Key findings, allergic reaction at 14 years old to amoxicillin that was prescribed for pharyngitis. No previous history of other allergies.
