Nurses often experience moral distress when their beliefs about patient care clash with those of others. This can cause them to struggle and feel overworked. There is not enough research on this topic, but it is clear that there are negative connections between a nurse's experiences and the quality of patient care. I'm going to bring you back to the moral distress that we talked about earlier. Nurses, they have a belief of what is best for patient care. What they believe will be the best way to save a life. And there are just different religions or different beliefs that some people don't want to go with what nurses believe are the best practices, therefore causing moral distress and causing them to struggle more. I don't believe that there is anywhere near enough research done on topics like this. We're not able to understand as much about the connections here, but there are obviously negative connections between a nurse experiencing the depersonalization, the overwork, load, and between that and the care that patients receive.
