Ryan Gilson shares his story of being a lifelong learner. He was born in Dearborn in 2004 and lived there until he moved to Tulane at the age of eight. He also spends time in Battle Creek where his dad lives. His experience with English and Spanish classes in middle school and high school was not great, so now he tries to avoid those subjects. However, he is currently learning Spanish on his own out of personal interest. Hi, this is Ryan Gilson, and this is my story of a lifelong learner. So to start, where am I from? I was born in Dearborn, which is right outside of Detroit, in 2004. And I lived there until I was about eight when I moved to Tulane. And my dad lives in Battle Creek, so I spend a decent amount of time there as well. So my history with English and Spanish classes has really shaped my academic pursuits here, as I didn't have the greatest experience with either of these subjects in middle school and high school. So now I'm kind of, you know, avoiding those subjects as much as possible. Though I am trying to learn Spanish on my own now, just out of personal interest.
