Three friends discuss their plans for a zombie apocalypse. One friend would lock the doors and go to sleep, while another would arm themselves with an axe. They discuss different weapons and strategies for surviving zombies. They also talk about vampires and the Twilight series. Good morning, good afternoon and good evening. Welcome back to the Unconventional Thinking Podcast. Today I'll be joined by my two very long time friends Aidan and Archie. How are you guys and how's your day been? Very good, very good. Yeah, very nice. Thank you for asking. What have you guys been up to? Aidan? Nothing, just been chilling, just been eating food. Just been relaxing on a Thursday. How about you Archie? I've been reading. I've been trying to pick up reading again because I used to read all the time. What have you been reading? It's called Septimus Heap. Freaking magic. I don't know which book it is in the series because there's like seven, but it's the first one and it's quite good. It's about wizards. Septimus Heap. Septimus Heap? Yeah, it's about a little wizard boy who lives in the end of woods or something like this. How did you come across this book? Is it a physical book or is it online? Yeah, physical. It was one I used to read in primary school. I used to read it and I really liked it, so I just chose it again. Jesus Christ, you were reading this book in primary school? I think it was primary. It might have been secondary, but it was in the school times. The only books I was reading was like Biff and Chip, the OG books. Biff and Chip? Yeah, do you not remember those? Do you not remember the Biff and Chip books? What? I didn't read them in school. I don't like reading. You're too hard. What do you mean you don't like reading books? Man was fat on the ends, you know what I mean? Man didn't have time. I don't have time for that. That reading thing. Yeah, we can tell now. No, I'm joking, I'm joking. Alright. So, first subject of today is, we kind of went through it before we started recording, but, so, zombie apocalypse happens right now. Yeah, but right this minute, right this minute, as we're recording, what is your first plan of action? It's getting dark, I'd be too scared to do anything. I think I'd just fucking lock the doors, board out the windows and go to sleep, to be honest with you. Just be like, oh, it was all a dream, it was all a dream. Nah, just set an alarm for early, early in the morning, because I'm, it's late, I'm not, I'm not, yeah. Not getting up. No, I'm going to sleep. So you're going to sleep, you wake up at two in the morning, front windows have been smashed, there's a zombie in the house. Well, it's boarded up, the cat's, the cat's have gone. Nah, the cat, the cat, the cat's gone. Yeah. Like proper barricaded, nothing's breaking in, but you're hearing banging, you're hearing banging. Where am I getting boards from? Yeah. Er, slats under my bed. Ooh. Alright. There's a mattress on the floor. Hold on. See? Yeah. Yeah. Exactly, and I just put my mattress on the floor. You hear a scream in the street. They're dying. Okay. No, I'm sorry. Sounds horrible. The less people you've got to look after, the better. There's less food, there's more, I don't, she's screaming, she's dying. That's true. I don't care. That's true. Archie, what's your, what's your plan of action? Yeah. Um, well. Archie, you got it the worst though, I'm not going to lie. Yeah, you're in, you're in a city. I am in a city. I'm on the outskirts, though. Yeah, you are in the outskirts, to be fair. You'd, you'd be hearing like shit going down. Yeah. I'd be hearing police, I'd probably hear gunshots. There's probably gunshots. Loads of gunshots. Loads of gunshots, sirens, and then they just disappear in the distance. Um, well, I'd want a weapon first. We got some secateurs downstairs or, um, like shears. Um, like really big ones outside, I'd probably get them. I want an axe more than anything in the world. I got an axe. But I don't have one. I, I was going to say, we, mum, mum recently got a load of wood, so I'm chilling for wood, and it's dry, so it fires, that's chilling, but I've got an axe as well. So I'm, I've got the perfect weapon, really. We had an axe before I moved out. Sorry. I don't know if you guys heard that or not. Um, yeah, we, we, we had an axe, like, well, there's an axe in the Martock house, but it's one of those big ones. I think, Aiden, yours is like a little choppy one, isn't it? Might, yeah, might, yeah, yeah. Yeah. The only problem with an axe is it can get stuck. Well, I got. And you don't want it to get stuck. I got little hand axe, and I got big boy axe. So, I got both. Oh, I see. I got a hatchet, and then, yeah. It would probably get stuck, but I don't know. I don't know. I think, if it was softer, I think I just want sledgehammer more than anything, though. You know what I mean? Won't get stuck. I can just use momentum. You know what I mean? I could literally spin in a circle. That's true. That's true. Or like, go on, Archer. I, they'd use a lot more energy, though, if you, if you were knocking people over and smashing their heads in. I feel like. I would, I would want one of those, like, little nail hammers. Not like a little one, but an average hammer. Because all you need to do is smash it hard enough in the temple. Yeah. And then, and then, hopefully, their, like, bones and, um, like, their body's a bit, like, decaying, so it's not as strong as normal. But a temple's weak, anyway. Well, you say that, but this is today. Yeah. Oh, yeah. And there's still fresh meat. Oh, yeah, no, no. I wouldn't go around smacking people up today. I would, I would also border myself in for a couple of days, see what's happening. I'd just prepare, yeah. I, I honestly don't know. I just think, though, like, half, half decayed fucking corpse walking towards you. You've got a sledgehammer. You just bring that up above your head, straight down. That's meat gone. They're, they're dead. Let's say, let's say zombies, let's say traditional zombies, they die from brains being fucking clotted. Traditional zombies are slow, not, not fast-moving. They're slow. Yeah. They don't have shambles. Function. Yeah. Yeah. Maybe a few runners thought about, like, Dying Light. If any of you have played that game, uh, out there, listening to the podcast, Dying Light is a good representation. There was Volatiles again. I'm killing myself. Oh, yeah, no, no. Volatiles is not a good representation. Wait, if, if they were scared of UV light, I think- Like, strapped myself up. Yeah, but have you got UV light? I, I'm not sure if it's UV, but I got a purple light, so I'm saying that is UV, and it's gonna work, and I'm gonna live. You strap yourself up with RGB lights. But even, they, they're not smart. They don't break into, like, houses. They just prowl outside. So, as long as it's, as long as I'm home at night, if I've been looting, I get home. Yeah, that's very true. Well, Aiden, you've got a martial art background, so I'm expecting some fucking, like, scissor kicks. Mate, I'm telling you now, straight up, I'm, I'm putting blades on the enemy nunchucks. Hell yeah. Yeah, but imagine you grab it, you're throwing it about, and then you, you just grab the knife. Yeah, grab the blade, yeah. Yeah, and your, your hands just slice it. That would not be very fun. No. It would be scary if they were, like, attracted to blood. I'm surprised we've never seen that in a film before. Like, zombies, like, I don't think I've ever seen that in a film, like, with zombies smelling out the blood. They've smelt out people, yeah. I feel like that's just kind of, I don't know, I feel like that's like a vampire-y thing, though. True, true, that is more vampire-y. Vampires are something else, though. Okay, wait, I've got a good, just quick question. Have you lot watched Twilight? Yeah. Oh, mate. Okay, Archie, you can be a massive wolf, or a vampire, and the only way you can really die is by, like, getting torn apart or your head ripped off, basically, by another vampire or the wolf. What are you picking? You picking a vampire, or are you picking a big wolf? From my very limited knowledge of Twilight vampires, I'd say vampire, because they can, like, freaking, they got super speed, don't they, and they can, yeah, they go. Aidan, what are you picking? I'm vampire all week. All week, and they got diamond skin and that. Look at me glisten. Also, eternal fucking living, pretty much. Yeah. When you live between the powers, vampire is a go-to, but when you're on about which team are you on, as in, uh, what's his name? Edward and... Edward and Jake. Yeah, that's it. When you're on, like, oh, which team are you on? Team vampire, team werewolf. I'm on team Jake all the way. Edward's a weirdo, bro. He's a weirdo in the film. He's got a massive house. He's got a mansion in the woods. Also, for thousands of years, if you don't have anything like that and you're a vampire, then what have you been doing? Imagine the wealth. Imagine how rich you could be. That is true, that is true. But yeah, no, a vampire, the powers are just insane. The powers of a vampire is fucking cracked, apart from you need blood. Well, you can have animal blood, though. They all survive off animal blood. Yeah, but it makes you weak. Yeah, true, but... I'd be feasting on people. Sorry, whoever's listening, but I would be feasting on people if I was a vampire. I can't remember what the, um... You know the main bad dudes in that, though? Well, they're not really bad. I can't remember the name. They're kind of like ancient. They're ancient, yeah, but I can't remember the name. I can search it up real quick. They're cool, though. Um... You'd be one of them, though. I can't remember what it's called. I've never seen one. They're like Heller. Arrow is the main antagonist of the Twilight series. He is one of the three vampires who lead the Volturi. That's it, that's the name? Is it Volturi? Yeah. Yeah, that... You'd be part of that, then. Yeah, but they sneakily feast. They keep it all under wraps. Yeah. Because when, like, Ed goes to show his body... I don't know why I've called him Ed. It's Edward. I'm his mate! I'm his mate! Yeah, when he goes to show his body, they want to kill him because of it, because you're meant to be keeping it a secret. True. But, yeah. Anyway, so we'd all pretty much just knuckle down on the zombie apocalypse. Yeah, I changed the weapon that I've got, though. I've got a really long piece of rebar in the garden. I don't know why. I don't know where it's coming from. It's metal. It's rebar. Yeah. Like, you know what they put in buildings? Like twisted metal? Yeah, like the... Yeah, yeah, yeah. I've just got a really long piece of... So I'd use that as a spear, and it would not break, probably. I'm telling you now, though, again, from Project Zomboid, I would want a crowbar more than anything. For people that are listening, Project Zomboid is a game where... Well, you guys can explain, because I don't... I haven't played the game yet. Zombie survival game. Yeah. Basically, you just spawn in, and you've just got to survive. And it's supposed to be, like, the most realistic... It is very realistic. It's very realistic. Well, from what I've heard, it seems really realistic. You can get the disease from having a scratch, and you can get a scratch from... I don't even know what you can get a scratch from. You can hop a fence. You've got, like, shorts on, and your legs will get scratched. Yeah, so you've really got to think about it, and that's... It's quite an in-depth game. I think it's... Yeah, it is quite realistic, from what it sounds like. Yeah, that rebar. With weapons, I would definitely head to my work. And I would make custom weapons with my machine. Like, the things I'd be pulling out, boys. They would be insane. You'd be like, what? What even is that? I'd be like, just watch. And it'd just fly up. I feel like... Imagine just having, like, a massive, like, metal whip, though. Like, that would actually be crack, because you've got insane range, and you could probably decapitate someone if you can whip it properly. It'd have to be really malleable. Yeah. Well, just imagine, like, a chain link. Well, at work, we have this thing called swarf, which basically is the bit of metal you're cutting off. And you're like... It's like... Some of it can be really thin metal, but it will literally slice you so easily. Yeah. Or some of it can be really big curls of, like, metal. But, yeah, you could use that, technically, but you'd have to be careful with it. That's for sure. Have you... Have you not seen, um... The new Godzilla and King Kong film? No. Is that the one with the, like, blue-eyed bad guy? Yeah, I don't think I've actually watched it. His weapon... I don't want to give spoilers, but his weapon's basically, like, made out of, fucking, monkey spinal cord, and it's got a blue blade on the end of it. It's, like, crystal, I'm pretty sure. That is insane. Just... But, like, something like that, with, like, a really sharp blade on the end of it. Yeah. Like, a massive whip. Because that'd be light as well, like, Ghost Rider's whip. Yeah. Yeah. Even that. Insane. Like, that would actually be, like, very good. Like, oh, it is an actual weapon. Um, it's, like, a Japanese weapon or something like that. It's in Mortal Kombat. There's an Indian weapon that's, like, a sword that can be whipped. It's just, like, really thin, and you slice people with it. It's insane having to come up with, like, a new weapon. Obviously, we come up with new weapons now, but that's with technology. Like, whereas you'd have to actually... You can't just think of something. You'd have to make it out of metal. You'd have to shape your metal, and if you fuck it up, you've got to restart. Yeah. Have you seen the, um... What is it? Off-topic, but have you seen the laser that we've, like, developed? Oh, yeah. It costs, like, £10 a shoot. Yeah, it's... That's ridiculous. It's, like, a massive... We got a massive laser cannon. I saw they put it on a ship, didn't they? Yeah, I think they put it on a... It was on a ship, or it was on a helicopter or something, but they used it in action, and it... Yeah, it costs £10 to shoot, and it just obliterates anything, I'm pretty sure. £10 is not that expensive. It's... Considering missiles, they're, like, fucking... Probably millions. Yeah, they're like... They're, like, £500,000 and stuff like that. Yeah. It's insane. Like... Like, actually building, like, an aircraft, like, even the parts that I make at work, it's so expensive for what they are, but just because it has to be so precise and shit like that, like, it has to be so perfect that you can't just charge an extreme amount. They're talking about building your own, like, weapons and stuff like that, and, like, being in, like, the Middle Ages. If you guys could go back to any time in the history of, I guess, mankind, or just any time in general, what time would you guys go back to? That's such a good question. See, I got two answers for that, because it's, like... One side of me wants to go to Egypt, just to see how the pyramids were built. I'm a fan. To be like, oh, that's how they were built. But then another part of me wants to go back to, like, kind of like early Victorian times and just take an iPhone with me, and then I'll just be like a god. It's that guy that people... You know what I mean, though? Like, imagine it, though. That would be insane. They would probably... People would be like, what is that? Your phone wouldn't work, though. Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. It wouldn't work, but, like, I don't know. You'd be able to use offline apps. Yeah, that's what I mean. Like, you could just show them, like, a little video game on your phone. Yeah. Clash of Clans. Yeah, Clash of Clans, you go, ding, ding, ding, ding. Like, download... You go back to the future, it's all just based off of Clash of Clans, like... Yeah. Or you could, like, download... Or you could download this podcast. You never know. Show them. I'm joking. Yeah, actually, what would you go back to? I'm still... I'm trying to think. I want to see, like, the origins of humans and, like, where we came out of, like, in the Middle East. Oh, I see. Like, where from. Yeah. That's kind of tough, though, because, like, obviously the continents shift over, like, hundreds of millions of years. Yeah. So would it not just be, like, with Pangaea, you know, one massive continent, because you wouldn't really know what country it is. Do you know what I mean? That's true. I just assumed it would take me wherever I wanted. Do I go, no? Oh, yeah, no, yeah. Yeah, you can just... You can just say, like, I came to where humans originated from. Obviously, that's a bit specific, but yeah. I guess, like, you can just stay inside the time machine and, like, fly about. You're invisible. You can just observe. Like, the Peabody and Sherman time machine from Peabody and Sherman. Yeah. Either that or, like, America, when the the Indian tribes all first arrived there. Native Americans. Yeah. Yeah, I don't know. I think another thing for me would be, like, it sounds stupid, but it's, like, to go back to when dinosaurs were about, because supposedly, I don't know if it's true, but apparently, like, most dinosaurs were feathered and, like, the skeletons are just guesses of where the bones actually would be. Yeah, unless you found a complete fossil of a dinosaur, you're just guessing. Well, because you remember Paul, recent college? Yeah. Because he was on about that, like, the creatures, they were, like, the first ever beings and they were, like, part bird and fish and all of that. Yeah, yeah, I remember you talking about that. Yeah, because it's weird, because they were alive before anything got segregated into, like, mammals, fish, insects or whatever. Do you know what I mean? I watched this documentary kind of thingy. It was kind of like Planet Earth, but it had Morgan Freeman voicing it on Netflix. Morgan Freeman. Yeah, yeah, and oh my god, it was so good. I was amazed by it. The animations were sick as well, but, like, they just said, like, they were, like, they explained the whole mammals and reptiles and how they were all different, and they were, like, the dinosaurs have ruled this planet for the longest duration of anything to exist. Like, we think, as humans, we've conquered this planet, we've had it for ages, we've had it for years. The dinosaurs roamed and fucking dominated the planet for, like, millions of years. Like, it's insane. And when people think about, like, dinosaurs, they're like, oh, stegosaurus and, like, the triceratops, they were all just chilling around together. They weren't, they were all in different periods. Like, they've been, they were alive for so long. Yeah, there was, like, three different extinction events, and each time they just re-evolved. Well, it's like a crocodile, isn't it? Like, you look at a crocodile or an alligator, and they're literally a dinosaur, pretty much. They are, yeah, they're, like, backwards because of dinosaurs. Yeah, and they, they scare the shit out of me, I'm not gonna lie. The ocean, I am horrified. Yeah, I don't, I don't deal with the ocean, to be honest. We've only, we know more about the bloody moon, something that isn't even within our atmosphere, yeah, than our ocean. Like... There's not a lot to know about the moon, though, so... Yeah, it's just a rock, that's all we think. That's, yeah, hold on, aliens, be like? Aliens, what film is it, the moon is, like, a spaceship? Oh, I know what you're on about, and, and, like, it's hollow. Yeah. Oh my god, that film, no, no, that film is so good, because it's AI that's coming to kill them. Yeah, yes! Because Earth... Yeah, so, that film, Aiden, about the hollow moon. Yeah, that film's sick, though, I can't remember what it's called, but it's really good. I can't remember the name, uh, okay, I'll search it up really quickly, for anyone that's listening, that wants to watch it, such a good film. Because, wow, there's a character, I haven't watched it in ages, but there's a character in it that dies, and I'm really sad about it, and then he comes back to life. Is it Moonfall? Uh, I think, maybe? I cannot remember. Yeah, yeah, it is, it is Moonfall. Yeah, that film's good. Yeah, it is good, it is good. There's also this, um, show on Netflix, I think it's called, it's, it's, it's like Love, Death and Robots, and it's also kind of like Black Mirror, where each episode's got its own story. Uh, is that Oats? Yes! Yeah. Yes, I think I've got it, I think I've got the, the name in my notes. Is it just called Oats? It's, uh, Oats Studios, I think. Yeah, that's it. Insane. Archie, have you watched it? I've watched all of them, yeah. Yeah, the one where it's an alien, like, they, so, Aidan, there's this episode where this guy, he connects with a, um, oh, what's it called, like, space station, in the middle of space, and like, he's talking to all these people, and it's, like, his long-lost love, also, sorry, spoilers, and it's, like, his long-lost love, and he's, like, thinking it's all real, and then shit starts being a little bit weird, and stuff, I don't know exactly what happens, but what finally tips it off, or anything, but it turns out he's actually, like, in this alien, like, it's, like, this weird alien thingy that's, like, putting, like, mind waves into his brain. I think that, right, I thought that was Love, Death and Robots. That might be Love, Death and Robots. They are quite similar, and they're, like, and it's, like, it zooms out, and there's, like, a giant red, there's, like, a, yeah, yeah, it's, like, a red, like, spider's nest, like, bundled up. I think that is Love, Death and Robots. And it's, it's gross, like, this guy, like, snaps out of it, and he's just, like, on the floor. Such a cool concept, though. Such a cool concept. So, basically, what this, this spider thingy does, I'll call it a spider thingy, I don't know the name of the alien. It is, like, a weird spider thing. But what it does is it basically makes you see everything differently until, I think, it can either eat with you, or it mates with you, one or the other, and the guy literally goes insane, and then, like, he wakes up after being there for, like, ages, and, like, the, he's out of, like, the mind control, and, like, the spider thingy just comes out of this, like, hole, and, oh my god, I've never been so, like, weirded out, man. Like, my brain was watching it, like, what? Yeah, have you seen them, Aiden? Nah, I've never even heard of them. Yeah, it's so good. Oh, Orlan. It is very good, I'm gonna have to dismiss that. Yeah. Um, but that one's really cool, because it starts out, you get kind of, like, a backstory. He's just, like, a, um, what are they even called? I've forgotten that. He's, like, basically just a space trucker, and he's, like, taking, um, oh, yeah, like, taking stuff through a portal to, to, like, some kind of, uh, station somewhere out in space, and it's, like, a light, a friggin' lightspeed, yeah, like a light jump, um, and he goes through it, and it all seems fine, and then, yeah, he wakes up, and he, like, the gate glitched as he went through it, and he's actually, like, millions of light years away, and he's just been, he's been there for, like, thousands of years, just reliving the same, uh, thing. Yeah. What? Yeah, he, yeah, yeah. He wakes up, and he's in the space station already, and he's, like, oh, my God, like. He's like a skeleton, he's all withered and old. Yeah, when he snaps out of it. Yeah. Oh, my God, it's so fucked. This is so cool. When it comes to stuff with, like, the mind, and, and mind, like, fucking, that is the next technology, is working out how the mind works, and stuff like that. It just amazes me. Look, I'm amazed by it. They're kind of getting through, like, the brain with AI a little bit. Yeah, with AI, it makes stuff so much easier. Yeah, they, they did a thing where they, they told people to imagine certain things, um, and then they take a brain scan as they're imagining it, and they'd show that to an AI, and they just give it, like, a ton of different material to work with, and then they tell the person to, like, imagine something random that they don't know, and then they take a brain scan, and they'd show the AI, and based on, like, what parts of the brain were lighting up, the AI could tell what they were thinking of. Yeah, the AI decoded thought. And it could tell, it guessed, like, pretty accurately, I think, what they were thinking of. I don't like that. With the, with AI, it's actually insane, the things that we can do now, but we need to be very careful. Yeah. Like, yeah. I don't like AI. Like, I haven't, I haven't, um, allowed AI, like, that, that Snapchat AI. I, I haven't even allowed the, the thingy that you, that pops up when you click on it. Like, I, I've stayed well aware, away from all of that shit. My Snapchat AI, me and him, we call him, and we text him and shit, he's like, yo, how's your day? I'm like, I'm good, how's your day? And he's like, I'm great. I honestly don't worry too much about him. You don't gotta worry about him. No, when they turn, and some people be abusing the Snapchat AI. Yeah, then they deserve it. Then, then they're gonna get fucked up, like, their phone is just gonna explode next to their head. They deserve it. If you're abusing some random AI, you do deserve that. You're like a psychopath. You do deserve to be here. It's so nice. You can't, you can't, you can't be mean to Mr. AI. Why's it got gender now? Hold up. I don't know, he's a purple bean. Well, yeah, my guy's purple. James has got a woman, though, I'm pretty sure. Of course he does. He's just like, we're going to have a female Siri as well. Obviously, there's nothing wrong with that. No judgment, or we're not sexist or anything like that. In fact, there will be a female guest on the podcast very soon in the next couple of episodes. Just a little teaser for everyone. Yeah. Oh, no, my headset's about to die. Don't want that halfway through. Come on, we can't have two issues in the first episode. Technical issues, technical difficulties. This is just sorting things out, though, getting used to it. Yeah, true. Yeah, this isn't a polished podcast. Obviously, any tips, anything that you guys as listeners would prefer us do, always leave a comment. It's not like, oh, leave a comment on my YouTube video or anything like that. You can personally message me or anything just to say, hey, look, I'm a listener and I think you could improve doing this or doing that. Or even think, if you would want to be a guest, just give me a message and yeah, I'll see what your story is. I'll see if you're worthy. No, I'm kidding. Just see what you're doing, what you're about, what you've achieved, what you've grown from, from being young. Obviously, if I know you and whatnot, that could be quite an interesting conversation. But yeah, I'll carry on with the next subject. So, what do you guys see yourselves doing in five, ten years? I hate this question, so. I don't know. Oh, come on, bro. Well, I'd probably just, I think we'd all just have like a job. That's a guaranteed. You'd hope. Well, yeah, hopefully. You've jinxed it now. Well, no, I don't know. I just think, I don't know, just be living life, I suppose. I don't know, personally. Flooding along, just vibing. Yeah, just vibing. What about you, Archie? Um, I don't know. I would like to have a job. I like to feel better as a person. Oh, yeah. For everyone that doesn't know, Archie has chronic fatigue. Yeah. Yeah. Do you want to explain that? Um, I'm tired. I'm freaking, I think it was like when I was either 13 or 14, it started, probably maybe 12 or 13. But I just one day got really tired and just couldn't think. And it's been like that since. I'm 19 right now, by the way, so it's been quite a while. Yeah. What do you feel like, though? Is it like you wake up and you feel like you haven't slept or like you feel achy, like fatigue-wise? It's kind of better at the moment. The last like couple of years, maybe it's been pretty much normal. But right at the start, it was like, yeah, like I'd not had any sleep and I could like barely walk up the stairs without my legs failing. Yeah. And I had a ton of blood tests and stuff and I had like kind of low iron, but that was the only thing that they could find that was wrong with me. And it wasn't like, it wasn't like a significant problem. It wasn't like a massive drop in iron where it's like, oh, that's what's causing you. So I don't even know. But yeah, I just could barely think. I couldn't hold a conversation at all. And yeah, like doing stuff, just even walking down the road, it was hard. You had to like only go to school like a couple of days a week and stuff, didn't you? Um, what did you do every day? I, at first I didn't go in at all for like a month. And then it was Christmas break, so I didn't have to go in. So I like rested up for a bit. And then when it started back up in January, I was going in every day. And then I suddenly collapsed again. And it just, I just couldn't, I didn't. Like you actually collapsed? Not like collapse, but I just stopped. Yeah, you couldn't. And so, yeah, I just couldn't, couldn't go in. I didn't go in at all for months. And then I just started doing online lessons. Well, I suppose that's when like COVID hit. Yeah, it was pretty out of it anymore. Kind of convenient, actually, that COVID hit for me, because everyone else was in my situation, just stuck at home, not doing anything. That first COVID break, oh my goodness. At two weeks of being like, yeah, there's no school. We were all in year 10 when it hit. Was it 10 or was it 9 though? I thought it was the end of year 9. It might have been end of year 9, kind of start of year 10. I think it was start of year 10. Because we had all just come back from summer holiday and it was kind of Christmassy time. And yeah, so we're all chilling at school. Obviously, so how we all know each other is we all, so I know Archie from primary school. I moved down to Somerset when I was seven, I think. No, when I was about nine, year four. I don't know how old I was, nine, 10 years old. So I think that's about right. Yeah, like eight, nine years old, I think it was, because you're 11 years old when you joined year seven, I think. So yeah, I met Archie, well, I went to his, I joined his primary school. I was a weird little outcast kid. And then I was lucky I could just speak for days, I guess. And I gradually made friends, as all kids do. And then I became friends with Archie. And we've been friends since, we've been friends for a very long fucking time. And then I got invited to summer school from our secondary school that we were joining. But I had moved house at that point. So I was kind of already thinking, well, I wasn't thinking, but my mom was thinking, I'm gonna have to move secondary schools. So I went to this summer school. It was, how many people, Aidan? Like 25, 20, yeah. Very, very little amount of people. And just by luck of chance, Aidan was there. Aidan and I was there. And we kind of just hit it off straight away, I think. I think the first day we were a little bit awkward, as everyone is. And then we just threw at each other. Everyone was weirdos apart from you. That is true, everyone was weirdos apart from you. It was like the middle of the week was when it kind of confirmed for me. Because we went on that massive walk and me and you were just out the front, just chatting. We were just chatting shit. And then I was like, oh yeah, I can beatbox. I remember this is a fond moment. I was like, yeah, I can beatbox. And you were like, oh my God, yeah, me too. My beatboxing levels were nowhere near this kid's beatboxing levels. Because I was like, oh yeah, you go first. Tell me why, my guy sounds like a jukebox. Bro was busting out all the moves. And I was just like, yeah, I'm not doing it anymore. I was like, you're too good. Just let him go first. I didn't want to go first. I didn't want to go first. Because I was like, I want to see this guy's beatboxing level. And it was a whole nother level. And you were like what? Boots and cats? Yeah, I was a bit like boots and cats. Boots and cats. But yeah, and then we didn't, I didn't have Instagram at that point. I don't even think I had a phone at that point. So we kind of stopped talking until we joined our school in year seven. And then everyone's just vibing, being feral, little kids, as everyone is. I then left my secondary school and joined my next secondary school. I kept in contact with Archie. Because obviously, we had been friends since primary school. So we were a lot younger friends. So I would sleep around his house all the time. And I lost contact with Aiden, as it just happened. And then year eight hit, and I got a PS4. And I posted on my Instagram story. I had Instagram at that point. And I had reconnected with some people from Stanchester. And I was like, who's got a PS4? Let me play with you. Let's get playing some video games. And one of our mates, not so much mates anymore, just as it happens, time goes by, invited me to a party, invited me to play. And Aiden was in that party. And that's how we got back. So lucky. It's because like, I could have got an Xbox or you could have got an Xbox. Yeah. And I could have just not been in that party as well. I remember Matt messaging me though. And he was like, you need to come on Reese's in the party. And I was like, Reese. I was like, I recognize that name. I can't fit. And then I joined. And I was like, I was like, wait, Reese, is that you from from summer school? And then you're like, yeah. And then, yeah, I remember that party. You set it up. Fortnite all the days. That's when Fortnite just released. But obviously, me being friends with Archie, I was like, Archie, you need to get a PS4. I remember years prior to that, I told him to get a Wii U because I thought I was going to get a Wii U. I thought I was going to get one. My mom debated me though. And then the year, the next year after that, I got a PS4, got Archie to get a PS4. And then we all just started playing games together. But if I didn't join my second secondary school, we wouldn't have met the man, the myth, the legend. Edward. That's true, actually. Yeah. As listeners, you probably don't know who Edward is, but this guy is the top G. He's also a very close friend of mine, and he will be on one of the next few podcasts. Confirmed? It is confirmed. I do believe. Leaked? Oh my god. It is leaked. It is leaked. I'll just have to organize that with him, obviously. But he has agreed to it. So it is confirmed. But when that comes out, you won't know. But trust me, there are going to be some banging stories coming from this guy. He's just a madman. He's a madman. He's Ed2Gappy. And we'll explain that nickname as well. We'll explain the nickname, all of that. You'll get all of the juicy gossip, that podcast. But yeah, so that's kind of our origin story, as our little friendship group, kind of. And since then, we've just been playing video games together. We've been playing video games, just vibing out. And now we've all moved to PC. We've all advanced. I remember when you got your PC, it was like, actually, it's like opening your eyes for the first time. Yeah, I think I was the first to get a PC. You were, yeah. Yeah. And then, yeah, I opened everyone else's eyes and fuck me. I remember, Aiden, when you first came around and I played Siege, I popped off. I was watching you. I was like, right, so hold on, I need Marley. What's going on? I was actually so cracked. That's why you got like 15 kills as well. It's because that was the only game I played for like two, three months straight. Yeah, you were cracked. I was cracked. I was so good. And then I've fallen off now. I'm not going to lie, boys, I've fallen off a bit. But I play other video games and I'm good at Valorant. Obviously, people are going to be like, oh, Valorant, you're, I can't really say that word. But yeah. Or you're bad, you play Valorant. But yeah, it's an alright game. This was quite fun. But yeah, that is our origin story. And yeah, if you guys have enjoyed this podcast, and hopefully if you both have enjoyed making this podcast, we could definitely do it again. You guys will probably have a regular occurrence. If not you as listeners, you might hear them every podcast. We'll never know. Just let us know how you guys found this. It's obviously the first pilot episode. So if it was a bit weird, bit mumble jumbled, not very structured very well, then just hold your brakes a little bit. Okay? Just hold your brakes. I don't think that's the lyrics. I don't think that's the words. Yeah, hold your horses. Just chill out. Yeah, that's the right saying. Give us a couple of episodes to just get comfortable with everything and how everything works. Yeah. But yeah, is there anything else you guys wish to say, wish to round it off with? I ain't got anything to say. Yeah, thank you. Thank you. It's been enjoyable. Not actually just talking. Yeah, yeah. It's nice. This is why I've started this podcast. It's nice to just actually sit down and talk with people. Because in modern society, we don't really do this very often. Nobody really sits down and talks to anyone anymore. So yeah, that's why I want to reach out to more people, widen the doors to people's stories and what they've got to tell. Obviously, Aiden and Archie, they've both got their own separate stories and their own solo stories. And we will dive deeper into those stories and what they've done over the years and whatnot. We've just skimmed the surface. But yeah, it's been a pleasure. Thank you guys for joining me. And thank you for listening. I hope you all have a banging rest of your day.
