The Yedid Nefesh is one of the opening prayers for the Kabbalat Shabbat Service each Friday evening as we welcome the Shabbat. It is a prayer that speaks of the unique and intense relationship between G-D and Israel (and all who are engrafted into the House of Israel). It is our cry for Him not to hide Himself in the exile as we long for the return of Mashiach ... may it be soon and in our days!
