Falcon is the host's nickname and he signs off with it. Greetings ladies and gentlemen, my name is Robert Arrington, cosign Falcon, and welcome to my podcast. I'll be giving you a quick and dirty overview of how to become a pilot. I'll be touching on the most efficient ways to save money while you're going for your private pilot's license. I'll also touch on some of the documentation that you may need before setting foot into a flight school. Stay tuned and we'll establish the timeline of how long it takes as well as the most cost effective aircraft to operate for your budget. So a little about me, I'm an aviator turned search and rescue operator who worked in the capacity of a unmanned aerial systems operator, i.e. drones, and a pilot or manned aircraft operator for aircraft in the Civil Air Patrol. I've operated drones for around 10 years and I've operated manned aircraft for around 5. In my squadron in the past, I served in the capacity of squadron commander of VA-025. In the past, we have contributed to rescue efforts as well as responded to national emergencies such as COVID. By the way, all the information that will be referenced in this podcast is only applicable to the Federal Aviation Administration or the FAA and it does not apply to ICAO countries outside the United States. As a result of this podcast, it is imperative that you do your own research to make sure that you get the most up-to-date information on acquiring your private pilot certificate.
