This beautiful hymn was written by A. S. Kieffer (1840-1904) and composed by Benjamin Carl Unseld (1843-1923) and is published in "Church Hymnal" (Pages 346-347) by Tennessee Music and Printing Co. (1951, 1979) and is available on Amazon. Unseld was born October 18, 1843, in Shepherdstown, Virginia. In the early 1860s, he moved to Pennsylvania. Though mostly self-taught, he sang in the choir and accepted a position as organist at the Methodist Church in Columbia, Pennsylvania. He studied music
