She looks forward to discussing this topic with others. Hello, everyone. My name is Rena Armwood, and I'm excited to share a bit about my journey and experiences with you today. I graduated from North Carolina Central University in December 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Recreation Administration, which laid the foundation for my career in education and athletics. In 2002, I earned my early childhood certification from Alamance Community College, and later in 2005, I received my certification in physical education from NCCU. Sports have always been a huge part of my life. I was fortunate to be a part of NCCU's first softball team to win the CIAA Championship, which earned me a place in the Hall of Fame in 2005. I was later inducted again in 2017, this time for my accomplishments in both volleyball and softball. Fun fact, my mother and I are the first mother and daughter to be inducted into the Hall of Fame at NCCU. Education became a natural extension of my love for sports. I spent 10 wonderful years coaching volleyball, basketball, and softball at Durham School of the Arts, where I worked with some incredible students and teams. Today I'm the lead teacher of the Encore team in my school, and for the past 14 years, I've had the honor of serving as the stage manager of our school shows, an experience that brings out my creative side. In addition to all this, I was also awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award from Spectacular Magazine, a recognition I am truly grateful for. I'm passionate about education, sports, and building connections with students. One topic that I've been particularly interested in exploring is how schools address issues of sexuality in the 90s, a subject that has evolved significantly over the years. I look forward to diving into the conversation with you all. Thank you for having me.
