The church is a Grade 1 listed building designed by the architect Sir John Soane and built between 1826 and 1828. The Hackney Bellringers – who are based at the nearby St John at Hackney – peal the church's three bells, in front of an audience. The source sounds were stretched in Audacity using Paulstretch with reverb and delay added for extra reverent ambience.
