Richard Pretorius talks about how he injured his knee while playing action cricket. He dislocated and broke his knee, tearing all the ligaments. After an operation and physiotherapy, he was able to walk again. He had a second operation to remove the wires from his knee and was able to resume playing sports. He continues to play sports to this day. Hello, my name is Richard Pretorius. The question I'm going to talk about is how I break my knees. Music Last year when I went to play my family action cricket, I was the first in my sister's team. At the third hour, I was exhausted. When I was exhausted, I went to stop. As soon as I stopped, I always dislocated my knee and broke it. So when I stopped, my knee didn't hurt anymore and then I fell out. 15-20 meters later, the ambulance came and gave me a pain reliever. I didn't recognize it, but we don't talk about that here. 3-4 hours later, the doctor came into the room and told me what happened. That I tore all the ligaments in my knee, that I dislocated my knee and that I broke my knee. The next day, I went in for an operation. I didn't walk for 3 weeks after that operation. When we arrived at the doctor, after those 3 weeks, he said to me, Everything looks good, but how come you're not walking? I never said I had to start walking again. He said to me, from that day on, you have to start using your knee again. As long as it looks good, try to do it again. 2 days later, we went to physiotherapy. He told me that I had to start standing up. If I can stand up, I can start making small movements, so that I can build up all the muscles to walk again. 3 days later, I walked. I was very happy that I could walk. 4 months later, I went for my 2nd operation, when they took all the wires out of my knee. From that day on, I was able to sit on my knee again. 2 weeks later, I started playing golf again. I started to cut my hair again. I started playing action cricket again. My family didn't stop me from playing action cricket. I got a little jealous. From that day on, I never stopped playing action cricket. I still play sport until this day. That's how I used my knee, and that's how I still play sport until this day.
