Dario encountered another survivor, S.T.A.R.S. officer Jill Valentine and the pair quickly took refuge in an empty warehouse until the zombie horde outside began to disperse. After enough time had passed, Jill suggested leaving the safety of the building, noting that no rescue was coming for them. However, a traumatized Dario vehemently refused and was offended by her suggestion, having just lost his family. Despite Valentine's pleas, Dario chose instead to lock himself inside.
