Rachel's final art project was a drawing of her dog. She wanted to give it to her parents as a thank you for everything they've done for her. She enjoyed the drawing unit the most in her class, so she decided to end with a drawing. She went through different parts, starting with an outline of her dog and adding more detail. She used regular pencil at first, then switched to black colored pencil to add texture to the dog's fur. She also used hatching and cross-hatching techniques. Rachel added grass and multiple layers to give the drawing more depth. She took a picture of her dog with the drawing and her parents loved it. Rachel learned the importance of adding texture and was happy to give the gift to her parents. She had a lot of fun in the class and wants to continue drawing. Hi, this is Rachel, and this is my final art project. I decided to draw a picture of my dog to give to my parents because of how much they've done for me. And they love my dog, so I just decided to draw her. The drawing unit was one of my favorite units, so I wanted to end with something that I had the most fun doing in this class. In part 1, this is the start of my drawing, and I just did an outline of my dog to get me going. Next, in part 2, I started to add more detail into the dog and finish my outline of her. From the start, I was just using regular pencil so far. Next, in part 3, I added some nails to my dog, and I'm still using regular pencil in this. In part 4, I started to use black colored pencil and started to use the technique hatching to add texture for her fur. Next, we have part 5. I covered my dog using the hatching technique with the black colored pencil and added her pink collar to her. Next, in part 6, I started using some cross-hatching technique to add more texture to her fur and to fill in the space that needed to be filled. Then, I decided I wanted to draw her sitting on grass, so I started to add some lines for that. Next, in part 7, I did my first layer of grass, also using the hatching technique. Then, in part 8, I went back over everything, making it a little darker. I went over the eyes and the nose to make it darker, and went over the grass again another layer to add more texture to it. Then, in part 9, I took a picture of my dog with my drawing, just because she was sitting there while I was drawing. And then, in part 10, here's my parents holding the drawing, and they loved it. I had a lot of fun with this class, and the drawing unit was my favorite unit, like I said before, so I wanted to end with doing a drawing of my own. One of the biggest lessons I learned was just adding texture from using the hatching technique, which is what I mostly did in my drawing. My parents loved the gift, so I was really happy to give it to them. I had a lot of fun making it, especially knowing that I was getting to gift it to one of my parents. So, overall, I had so much fun in this class, and I'm looking forward to continue drawing more.
