The speaker reflects on their own mistakes and realizes that many people can relate to their experiences. They emphasize the importance of humility and self-awareness, particularly regarding being overly confident. They warn against the dangers of arrogance and complacency, explaining that it can lead to a gradual decline and negative consequences. The speaker gives examples of how expanding and taking on new challenges can become overwhelming if not properly managed. They caution against thinking we are good at something without continuous learning and improvement. The speaker also mentions the rise of Vietnamese millionaires in the crypto market and warns against making impulsive decisions without a strategy. Due to my own mistakes and foolishness, I unintentionally discovered that many people sympathize with me. They are afraid, just like me, and they feel the same way. It's like they see their reflection in my story and empathize with it. They can learn from my failures and mistakes. I realized that many young people, just like me, or even older individuals, have faced similar challenges and obstacles in their lives. So, I am confident when I talk about my failures and mistakes. Sometimes, please don't think that I'm being negative about life. That's not true. I'm being realistic. The mindset I'm talking about is essential. You may have heard that in this life, you may know this or that, but there is one thing you must know, humility. Knowing yourself is crucial, especially in two cases, either we think we are too excellent, too talented, too great, or we lack confidence in ourselves. Today, I will talk about the first case, which is being overly confident. Most of us have a behavior where even if we achieve a small accomplishment, we consider it insignificant. We still feel arrogant, not to mention if we achieve something significant, like being the top one company, earning the first billion, or buying the first house or car. We feel superior to those around us, and that's when arrogance starts to develop within us. And that's when we start paying a price. In general, the price we pay is like this, it never comes all at once. It gradually comes, little by little, until we truly have to change to reduce the price. When I think I'm too excellent and too talented, the problem is that I don't learn anything. I don't make efforts or optimize anything. That feeling is called complacency. Sometimes, we are not okay. We feel like we are fine, but we're not. Those of you who have experienced this know what I'm talking about. Life seems fine, but actually, it's not excellent. It will be fine until you realize it's not fine compared to the price you pay. Why do I talk about this price repeatedly? Because it will definitely happen in life. We will face it in two cases, when something challenges us, when we fight or do business, or when we expand into things we don't know, thinking we're excellent. That's when it becomes dangerous. We may think we're excellent and invest in business, relationships, and have many friends. When you achieve a milestone, for example, you handle a hundred orders a day, you feel motivated. Then you reach 200, 300 orders a day, and you start expanding your marketing, like using Google Ads. You open one successful branch, then two, three, four, five branches. It seems great, but when it comes to managing personnel, you forget one thing, five different employees, ten different employees, fifty employees, and even up to a hundred employees. It becomes too large for you to handle. In human resources, the most difficult thing for a medium-sized business is that we think we know, but we actually don't. We believe it's within our reach and we invest in it the same way. I truly believe in investing in yourself, and there are many lucky opportunities that come with it. However, thinking that we are good at something is what kills us the most. For example, during the early months of 2022, there were many Vietnamese millionaires created in the crypto market. It created both outstanding and mediocre individuals who were fortunate enough to be called successful. In the bear market cycle, at the end of the bear cycle, whatever you buy, you feel good. You buy nonsense, no strategy at all. Many of you are like that. Click to expand.
