The Annals Vol 1
The Annals Vol 1

The Annals Vol 1 is a historical work written by Publius Cornelius Tacitus, which covers the period from the death of Augustus Caesar in the year 14. It is believed that Tacitus wrote at least 16 books, but some parts of books 5, 6, 11, and 16 are missing. The book ends with the death of Tiberius, and books 7-12 likely covered the reigns of Caligula and Claudius. The remaining books cover the reign of Nero until his death in June 68 or until the end of that year. Unfortunately, the second half of book 16 is missing, leaving readers curious. Overall, this is a valuable historical work that provides insight into the political and social events of ancient Rome.
