In Miami County, many children are in single-parent homes and face challenges like addiction and violence. Research shows that children need at least one caring adult to thrive. The goal is for every child in Miami County to have a caring adult in their life. It's how are the children? Their response is always the children are well. They know the health of their society rests on the well-being of their children. And how are the children in Miami County? 7,000 youth in Miami County live in single-parent homes and many more are hurting. Some are traumatized, living in homes with addiction, violence, or simply lacking loving attention. For kids from hard places, research shows what children need to be well is at least one healthy relationship with a committed and caring adult.
