Jesus decides to go to Galilee and meets Philip, who then tells Nathanael about Jesus being the one written about in the law and prophets. Nathanael is skeptical but agrees to see for himself. When Jesus sees Nathanael approaching, he comments on his authenticity. Nathanael is surprised and asks how Jesus knows him, to which Jesus replies that he saw him before Philip called him. Nathanael then acknowledges Jesus as the Son of God and the King of Israel. Filipe respondeu, Vem ver. Jesus viu Natanael que vinha para ele e comentou, Aí vem um israelita de verdade, um homem sem falsidade. Natanael perguntou, De onde me conheces? Jesus respondeu, Antes que Filipe te chamasse, enquanto estavas debaixo da figueira, eu te vi. Natanael respondeu, Rabi, tu és o Filho de Deus, tu és o Rei de Israel. Jesus disse, Tu crês porque te disse, eu te vi debaixo da figueira? Coisas maiores que esta verás. E Jesus continuou, Em verdade, em verdade, eu vos digo, vereis o céu aberto e os anjos de Deus subindo e descendo sobre o Filho do homem. Palavra da salvação. Glória a vós, Senhor.
